Question about HP DesignJet 750c InkJet Printer
After replacing the platen and overdrive assm on a HP 750C Plotter, the cutter wheel is giving me fits! About 2" or so from the right frame member that it must pass through, the top of the cutter wheel tilts toward the front of the plotter and jams against the frame. I tried the old overdrive assm and does the same thing. Any thoughts, David
Yes, I had the problem a week ago, it was a "Doooh" moment when I figured it out.
Your cutter is not where it is supposed to be. It should be OUTSIDE of the metal strip, and you almost certainly have it running in the groove on the inside. THe cutter wheel should have almost 1/2" overlap with the overdrive blade.
As the service manual says on reinstalling it "Ensure the cutter is over the overdrive blade".
I must have looked at it 10 times before it registered. THere is even a drawing. Not a clear one, until after you realize what is wrong.
