Question about JVC TH-C5 System

2 Answers

System cable I am looking to find an affordable replacement system cable for a JVC th-c5 surround system. He is a disabled gentleman and is on a VERY fixed income and he did odd jobs and saved to buy the system used, however the person he purchased it from cannot find it. I have been looking and after shipping through JVC it will be about $40. E-bay wil be about $30. Like I said he's on a fixed income so if anyone has one they'd like to sell cheap, just let me know

Okay after 1 yr of searching for this cable.... I figured it out! I have the same setup as whom you are speaking of. The jvc part# is QAM0381-002. After the obvious searches like ebay and jvc. The avr $ is 40 buks! Every1 told me to go throught the manufacturer.... it was the a 1 of a kind. I said b.s. I did a lil research on the actual cable itself. I have the cable intact just it's cheap made and it fell apart. I figured out that the cable is not unique. It is called an 8 pin, mini din cable. Google this with intent to buy. You should come up with quite better pricing. I bought mine around 7$. You might even try circuit city, best buy ect. The sub should be the power source for the system the cable carries power and audio to the sub. Hence the importance of the retarted cable!. Hope this is the cable and problem u were refering too? Thanks Derrick dusty@bardstown.com

Problem with surround sound on JVC Th-C5 sound system

Not sure how you're hooked up or what model TV you're using. If you mean the TV sound through RCA cables is the source and you're wondering why it's not surround. Well, it's not multichannel. Please fill in some details.

You might have the connections wrong. If there is component in on you tv(red, green, blue) then use the for the best picture. Other wise use the yellow composite video out to the yellow video in on your tv

Cannot get sound from tv to surround sound speakers

you will need to connenct audio cables red and white from audio out on tv or from programming source(cable box sat box) to the audio in on back of jvc unit. then set unit to appropiate source (where you connect cables on back of unit it will be labaled and remote will have button to get to that connection labeled the same) if you want to get digital sound you will need and digital coaxial or fiber optical cable from source(cable box or sat box) and then set unit to video 1 for coaxial and video 2 for optical

Muffled voice track on JVC TH-C5

It's an audio setting you will need to change. some movies are decoded in dolby and some by dts. This means you will have to adjust accordingly depending upon the source of audio in the movie. a double d is dolby's trademark and dts is regesterted trademark for the company "digital theater sound." The icons are on the dvd usually. Anyways, find the set up button on the remote control and use the directional arrow keys on the remote; up, down, left, or right to adjust for best sound. the thc5 will have the most function on the surround settings, movie, music, and all st. try a sequence, than repeat until desired sound is heard... good luck

Jvc th-c5 dvd theater system

Probably have a bad center unit to subwoofer cable. Sometimes the pins inside the cable bend or break. I paid 33.00 for a new one on the JVC website.
