I have the same problem today. I'm lucky to find this thread and fix the problem. The cooker have two broken wires. The good news is that one wire is black and the other is yellow. If both were yellow, I might have to figure out which one connects to which.

I had the exact same problem with my rice cooker. I took the lid apart. There was a broken wire because of the constant friction of the hinge when open and close the lid. After I soldered it, it started to work again.
