Question about GE 19GT270 19" TV

1 Answer

Cable input The male cable input on the rear of the television has fallen out and can't be found. It appears as if it can be screwed back in place. Is this possible and is there a replacement part for this situation? Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Jerry Yingst

How do I connect the coaxial cable?

This is quite simple. Your wall box is a male connector. The TV input is a female one. Make a cable with resp; female and a male connector. Unless the wall box has a 'screw on' connector. (FC10 f.i.) Then you need this special item and/or crimp tools in order to fit this FC type connector to the coax cable. Not simple.

I have my rca model f36665 hooked up strait from the wall to the tv and I can't get it to find the channels. do I have to have a cable box?

First if cable I presume you have entered the menu and selected cable.

Another possible reason is the tuner/s in this set are bad---hook a DVD or something to one of the rear inputs and see if set works.

If set works that way and tuner turns out to be bad you can with a box with av cable out connections on back just go into a rear input and bypass the tuner--leave set on that input and change channels with the box.

Let me know if you have questions and what you find---usually on this set if no signal---"unusable signal" will appear on screen if no signal.

The attachment point for the coax cable was pulled off-broken off

You'll need to take it to a repair shop. There are high voltage capacitors inside a television which will hold a charge even after all power is removed. I would highly advise against making this repair yourself.

Imput problems with Samsung DLP TV

The parts required for this are available but difficult to find. The overall repair is not that difficult for anyone that has fixed these before. You'll spend more time getting to the jack than replacing it. Try calling Samsung parts and give them the model as well as the circuit designation of the jack. This designation will be written on the PC board. For less than $5 you should be able to get the jack. Ask a local service shop to install for you and you are off and running.

Tv magnovox tv

firstly try that tv to a different tv
if this works
then check your tv av connections in side tv
also check cables continuity
if this fails buy a AV/ RF converter, have your AV be connected to a converter, and let your output be RF feed to a tv, RF input, so instead of using AV on your tv you will be using RFchannel mode

TV is hooked up to cable, but only blue screen and a/v appear. have a place on your remote which says input or tv/vcr or something like that. You may also have an input menu. You've got to find that. Right now, you're set on one or more of the component (a/v) inputs your set has. You've got to move that back to the tv input. If you are using a cable input or antenna input...these use one connector with a screw on fitting on it.

If you have a tv that does not have cable input...antenna cable, you'll need a balun adapter. Available at any electronics store. If you're trying to input rca style plugs...not every tv has this...especially if more than 10 years old.

I am assuming that your TV has Video IN source selection.

You need to use the Video/Audio OUTput of the VCR/CD and connect them to the Video/Audio INput of the TV. To do this you would have to use a 3-wire shielded cable with male RCA connectors color yellow, red & white.
c296912.jpg RCA male connectors, yellow is usually video, red/white is audio left/right.

599898c.jpg as shown OUT of VCR/CD to IN of TV.

Pnce done, play the VCR/CD with a good known CD or tape and set TV to Video mode.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Your tv might not support that option there might be an antenna for basic channels on top of your tv but what you can do is get video + sound cables(red, yellow, white) and connect them through this way.

Tv connector cable plug slips out

you need to replace your wall cable outlet. This can be purchased at any Radio Shack or Home Depot store. You will find two mounting screws , remove them and you will have access to the junction box. If the cable system was installed in the proper manner you will find a double male connector attached to the face plate by a single securing nut. Remove this nut and replace the double male connector. simple job, hope this was a help to you.

good luck----------------tomtaso
