I need to download Internet Explorer 8, but I keep on getting a message that my request for download did not go through because there is a previous program installed. I don't know how to find the program that is in my control panel. At present my computer is 32 bit Vista with explorer 7.

I, myself have had nothing but problems when I downloaded Internet Explorer 9! I got rid of it. The best way to get rid of IE 9 once you have downloaded it is to go to Windows Update, click " view update history", click "Installed Updates" and once they all appear, find Windows Internet Explorer 9 ( Under Microsoft Windows, which is below Microsoft Visual C & Microsoft Silver-light 1, among others ) and uninstall it! It is quite very simple and IS the only way to get back to IE 8 ( If that is what you had previously, otherwise it will default to IE 7. BTW, very easy to re-install IE 8! ). For some reason, once you start using Google Chrome browser, it is best to simply avoid Internet Explorer! I use Google Chrome & love it! I also use Mozilla Firefox! Sometimes we must use Windows IE since it is the browser which came with the computer. But I would avoid IE 9 and just not download it again once you are rid of it! Go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/downloads/ie-8 select your operating system and download IE 8 to your desktop.
You should be able to go to the control panel and select add/remove programs or programs and settings. Scroll down the list until you find internet explorer 9. Select it and press remove. This should remove 9 and restore 8. If it doesn't restore 8, use the previously downloaded installer for internet explorer 8 to get you back in action.

There are basic issues why its hard for you to use log in your yahoo messenger. Your internet connection is not stable. The spelling of your user id and password is incorrect. Watch out for Capital letters. For laptop users, the firewall settings is on. These are only basic steps to consider why its hard to connect it.

Yahoo Messenger rely its connection on the internet through Microsoft Internet Explorer. If your internet explorer is out of date better upgrade it.

The best suggestion to improve the connection of your Yahoo Messenger is to upgrade the Internet Explorer of your computer. Compatible to the system software you are currently using. (Example if your operating system is windows vista, Install Internet Explorer 8 for Windows Vista)
After you upgrade your Internet Explorer, uninstall the yahoo messenger on your computer and then reinstall again. After doing this, restart your computer and try to log in. You will surely see the difference.

These are the link files that you will need to upgrade.
1. Internet Exporer 8 - select your operating system and download IE8
2. Yahoo Messenger 10 - download and install this after you remove previous version of yahoo messenger on your computer

(Note: if you are using different web browser, It doesn't matter. Install Internet Explorer 8 and just don't default it as your web browser)

if its WS Vista go to Program & Features from Control Panel and look for the option thats View Installed Updates and remove Internet Explorer 8 .... and if u have WS XP go to Control Panel/Add-Remove programs and remove Internet Explorer 8 ... you will have Internet Explorer 7 ... your problem is resolved ....

pleasw check your user name and password

You can do either of two things:
In Internet Explorer, choose [Internet Options] under the [Tools] menu selection.
[Advanded] tab
scroll down to the "Security' section
UN-check the "Warn about invalid site certificates"
[OK] [OK] [OK]
close and restart Internet Explorer.

If not satisfied with iE8, you can un-install it and the previous version that you had will re-install itself (and keep all your favorites, etc. intact).
[Start] [Control Panel]
[Add/Remove Programs]
Scroll most of the way down to [Windows Internet Explorer 8]
[Remove]

here is my advice : Just go to www.microsoft.com and download internet explorer again and install it , then reboot your system . I'm sure that this will solve the problem . any way , why don't you try other internet communication softwares like ( firefox or google chrome) those both are great also . I advice you to have more than one internet communication software . I already have three just in case if one of them is corrupted . I have ( Internet explorer and firefox and google chrome ) . just try the idea and you'll be satisfied with the result .

If that didn't help then try to check system for errors . such as registry errors .

This happens because some important files requires for IE might got corrupted or deleted due to improper shutdown or virus problem. Just reboot your PC into sfae mode and try opening your IE. If problem persists in safe mode too, then download IE8 from here and install it.

Hi,

Internet Explorer 8 is a Beta Version, Don't use it. Its not recommended. So you can go to control panel and un install internet explorer 8 and restart your computer. then it will automatically restores it previous version.
