Why does my tom tom keep going the shut down page every 10 seconds I have pressed reset but makes no difference I ride bmw r1200rt

One possible cause is that your battery is low or the battery can no longer hold a (good) charge. In this case, the TomTom is shutting down because there's not enough battery to keep it running, even though it is plugged into a power source.

To determine if the battery is the cause, try to charge the TomTom battery .... using a (USB) connection to your computer, or a direct power source (i.e. while the TomTom is not being used). Let it charge for a few hours until the batter charge indicator shows that it is fully charged (or just leave it charging overnight).
Then, unplug the TomTom from the "charger" and power it up. If the TomTom (battery) doesn't hold a (good) charge, the device will shut down within a few minutes, e.g. 10 mins or much less.
When you (then) plug the device into a power source, and it doesn't stay on (i.e. it keeps shutting down after 10 seconds), you can safely conclude that the battery is the cause of your problem.

Usually an old (or older) battery will no longer hold a charge ... or will only hold a small charge (that will let you run the GPS for only a few minutes).
Often, when the TomTom device is always connected to the charger (in a vehicle), where it charges every time the car is turned on, whether the TomTom is being used or not, the battery gets charged (partially or fully) often enough to use up the "maximum number of charge" cycles for the battery. Hence, it will no longer charge properly or hold a strong charge.
Like for all lithium batteries, it's better if your device is not always connected and being charged (whether you are or are not using it). The battery will last longer and it will still be able to hold a stronger charge.

TOMTOM model 4EH44 will not turn on

First make sure your battery is fully charged ... it may take a couple of hours or more. If you are not sure if your battery holds a charge, plug it into a power source (after charging it for a couple of hours or so). Then, try the (usual) start ... press the ON/OFF button, to see if it starts up. If it still doesn't start, try a "boot" start - holding down the ON/OFF button for a while (could be up to a few minutes) ... until it starts (i.e. let go of the button).
And if this still doesn't work, it may be the battery ... (i.e. not holding any charge), or the GPS device (processor hardware/firmware) or navigation software that is non functional.

How do I charge my 300 from flat

remove the battery and fast charge it.

To fast charge a battery, get an adapter that is between 4 - 9 volts, cut the wire and place the red part to the positive part of the battery and the black, to the negative part of the battery.

Use your hands to hold the wires to the battery for about 2 to 5 minutes. By then the battery cell must have been boosted. Then you can continue the charging with its real charger.

I wish you good luck

Pin navman handhelp pc will not work off battery

Try holding soft reset for a couple of minutes whilst charging. If this does not work leave pda charging with hard reset switched off BUT all data will be lost. Then move hard rest and if you are lucky the green charging light will start flashing and you can switch on. It sounds as though you have flat battery and if left too long restarting becomes very difficult as the motherboard cannot start the recharging process while the pda is switched on. This is true even with new batteries which can be supplied flat if old stock.
Even liquid damage is unlikely as there are so few exposed connectors. I have not tried it but gently drying motherboard with a hair drier on gentle setting and cleaning battery connector and screen ribbon cable before assmbling might work. Treat both connectors as being etremely fragile although they are more robust than you might think. But treat them with extreme care as repairs to them would be more expensive than the value of a working pda.

Quest Battery Problem

A battery for a Sony Clie N610C works perfectly, everything fits and its easy work to do. Just cut the leads off of your old battery and then solder them to the Clie battery (its on a little circuit board) and then install, my Quest II now has a functioning battery 15 minutes later.

GARMIN c550 will not turn on

There is an ISSUE with the DEAD ZUMO, however some of the are solved, and some need to be shipped back.
There are a couple of options.
1) remove the battery, keep power button pressed for a few minutes. install battery, try.
2) fully recharge the battery with the wall charger, try
3) With a fully charged battery, press and hold the + button and press the power button(hard reset).
4) hold thumb firmly on top left of touch screen and hold power button till it switches on(hard reset).
5) Try a different battery (fully charged)
6) Ship it to Garmin

Garmin C330 resets itself

The first problem with it powering itself off is a battery problem. Your battery is not hold a charge.

The second problem with it powering itself on with the power cord attached is a power cord issue. The unit is suppose to automatically power itself on if a power cord is attached to it. This is Garmin way of turning the unit on when you start your car. Most auto cigarette lighter will cut power if the ignition is off, and restore power when the ignition is on.

Garmin uses this to turn the unit on and off. If the unit was being powered by the the cigarette lighter then it say unit is shutting down in 20 seconds after the power is cut.
