Using a Barracuda 7200.11 SATA 3Gb/s 1-TB Hard Drive

Quick question:

Is it possible, and how difficult would it be, to install a new Barracuda 7200.11 SATA 3Gb/s 1-TB Hard Drive in a standard configuration Presario SR1350NX?

Will it fit in the drive bay slots (which slot does it use?) or will I have to remove something?
Will it readily accept SATA?
Will it readily accept a 1 TB-size drive (BIOS issues?)

Many thanks!

Will it work 1 tb hdd in intel D865GSA mother board

Yes a 1 TeraByte Hard Drive will work for your intel motherboard.
The link above shows what your motherboard can handle. Any Hard Drives now can operate smoothly on any motherboard. You can only limit your RAM or memory from the motherboard. It can only handle 2GB of memory, but your fine on Hard Drive space and lots of memory. If you plan on a new Operating System, I suggest sticking to Windows XP or Vista. 3GB is required for Windows 7 operating systems. I hope this solves your issue of installing a new Hard Drive to old motherboard.

My hard disk dosent get detected but if i touch it then i can feel motor inside is rotating please help

could be the sata cable not seated properly or bad cable. check connections. If its the only sata drive connected make sure it's plugged into sata #1 slot. Could be drive, motherboard or bios problem. Next step would be to update the bios. That might help.

You didnt mention what version of windows. I assume it is one that can handle a 1.5 TB drive. Not all can.

Sounds to me like Windows wants the Sata Drivers for that drive to function properly. If so then you will have to create a slipstream disk. AKA a modified windows install disk with the sata drivers installed. there are a number of sites that do a good job of describing how to slipstream a disk. I had to do it once and I sure hope that is the right name. :)
You could try booting from a regular drive with windows and then make sure the drivers are in the proper windows folders and then use Acronis migrate software to move the old drive to the new drive(which you installed and setup in windows earlier)

Improper power supply will cause the malfunction of the HDD. Try to coordinate with vendor/dealer who provided the product and repair the same.

Hope this gives you the information you need

Unrecognized HDD-- need help!

You could also try setting the jumper on the hard drive to "limit to 1.5gb/s".
