Then at 23 minutes F! error error comes back and I had to do the same thing (stop and start) 304 times before it continues back to cycle. this happens evry single time I do my laundry. Thanks.

The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced .

Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START". This will rinse out the tub.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F1 indicates primary control failure and to resolve this you'll have to replace the machine control assembly. This error should be fixed by whirlpool as its a common issue with whirlpool Cabrio washers, you can call 1-800-253-1301 whirlpool will send a tech. to fix it and pay for the part. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

The Whirlpool Cabrio and Kenmore Oasis (same machine) are infamous for this problem. Depending on the serial number you may be entitled to a new control board installed for free under a recall program. Call Whirlpool for eligibility. I had just had mine replaced last week for free and it runs fine now.

F1

jenkle, F then 1 flashes when there is a primary control failure. There is a couple of things you can try. 1. Unplug the machine for 2 minutes and see if the error returns. If it does, try activating the auto diagnostic mode. With the washer plugged in and all indicator lights off, select any key except power, start and stop. Here's what you do; press/hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press/hold for 3 seconds, release for 3 seconds, press and hold for 3 seconds. If you did it right all indicators will light and 88 will appear in the display. If there are any faults, they will then display, look for a F-60 through 68. This will confirm the board is corrupt. If no faults are found the machine will go through a five minute automatic test cycle. To stop the test, just press stop/cancel. Check your owners manual and see how long the board is warranteed.
