There is no speed seperate control on overlockers other than the foot control but most sew at 1500 stitches per minute, very fast compared to sewing machines.

What is your stitch length set to as this could be the problem. For normal four thread stretch seam you would want the length set to beween 2 and 3 so double check this - the length knob is usually a knob on the right side near the flywheel.

Hopefully, the above solves the problem for you but if not, please message again.

My Janome Overlocker keeps slowing down to a stop when sewing . Likes its seizing up, have oiled it.

If it's a mechanical machine, it probably needs deep oiling. Mine starts sounding "cranky" and that's when it needs some TLC.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

Newhome 743D overlocker. What kind of needles does it use?

From what I can discern, Newhome was a Janome product. Perhaps these needles will work:

Janome Overlock Serger Needles 5 Needles per Pack

Is this similar to your machine? If so, then the needles above may work:

I found some Janome 743D manuals online but they all appear to be in the UK, or elsewhere.

My Janome memory craft model 9000 sewing machine is now sewing at one slow speed. The quality of the stitch is good but too slow what should I look for?

Your speed slide sensor is bad. Your local repair shop can fix it. There is a chance it's the foot pedal. If it's still slow when you sew without your pedal, then it's the sensor.

I am interested in buying a Janome 525 but want to know if it has a built in overlocker

A sewing machine and an overlocker are two completly different things, but a sewing machine is usually able to do a cover stitch. An overlocker will cut the fabric at the same time, a sewing machine cannot do this.

I would like step by step instructions how to gather a ruffle on my machine. Thanks so Much!!

I don't know if this will help. Overedge and gather, select overlock 4, increase stitch lenght to 4.Lift foot and dial differential feed to 2.2. Increase the 2 needles to 4.6
