- The flash on my Canon A620 started flashing overly bright for the first flash, then fine for the ones following. And it also refuses to flash. I changed the batteries, no change, put the original batteries back in, the camera flash started working again (after the first overexposure flash).Where do I take the camera for a flash repair? Or would it make more sense to just get a new camera?

Usualy the flash is soldered into the unit. Are you sure its on? some pop up and some have to beflipped up automaticly. Does your display show a lighting bolt? the normal icon for flash being on is a lightning bolt. If it has a line threw it it is disabled in the settings somewhere. Ive never seen one that has failed so it makes me think there is a wrong setting somewhere. Try and hold it up maybe there is dust or dirt o the switch keeping it from detecting it is up and ready for use?

i have a nikon coolpix. i've tried every flash option yet the flash never goes off....
i took it to a repair shop and he said i'll need a new flash circuit and it's going to cost
$130 to replace it. i don't know much about cameras, but is this high? also, would it
be better to just get a new digital?

I have a Sony DSC-W1 camera. The flash stopped working recently. There is no error code, and all the flash symbols can be set as normal. The flash does not fire in any mode.
The voltage on the xenon tube and the 2 capacitors are about 240 volt which is normal .
I replaced the xenon lamp but the problem persists. Should i perhaps change the reflector as it is part of the triggering ?
