I have a PIXMA MP500 printer. It is showing an error code 6A00. Can't find any reference to this in the User's Guide. What does it mean; what should I do?

Hi,
I got info on error code 6A00 as follows..
6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Follow Canon's suggestion, take it or send the unit UPS to the Authorized Repair Facility.
You will NOT be able to resolve the problem yourself.

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Inspect the unit , and try to see if there is any foreign object inside, also turn the printer upside down and shacke it gently.
Try moving the ink carriage on the rail, play with the carriage without forcing it too much.

If you still cannot fix it, this is a mechanical problem that cannot be fixed by the user. A technician will have to take the printer apart and assemble it back.
Call the service number listed on the owner manual or take the printer to a local repair facility.
If you call Canon, they will say either to take it to a service center or have a refurbished unit sent.

I have an error code of 6A00. I dont know what this is and how to correct it

Hello,
AP position error [6A00] means that an error occurred in the AP motor during
purging operation.
The fault part may be:
- Sheet feed unit (QM2-2916)
- Logic board ***'y (QM2-3078)*1
- Purge unit (QM2-2925)

you better contact a tech because it is not that simple to fix if you have no tech expirience.

Canon pixma all in one mp500 error code 6A00

6A00 is a problem with the sheet feed unit.
Manually move the print head left and right, and turn the printer on/off. I would also inspect the rollers for ANY debris... it can often be fixed by using "canned air" and blowing the interior out completely.

6A00

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
