This is actually a problem in some new touchscreen phones sometimes do freeze. The best thing to do would be to see if there is a software update available for you phone. If not then you need to contact verizon and check if they would let you exchange your phone, depending on how long you have had it.
Hope this helps,
I found the perfect solution (if you are in the market where Alltel is now Verizon). My screen stopped working and this was the third one I've had. If it is still under warranty, take it to Verizon where they are suppose to replace. But since Verizon doesn't carry the Glimmer they are forced to give you a different phone that compares to the Glimmer. They great thing about this is that the Glimmer is equivalent to the EnV Touch, a 10x better phone (full QWERTY keyboard, no block on ringtones, and no annoying ascending ringer!). So I exchanged a crappy glimmer for an awesome EnV Touch for free. So if you are now a Verizon Customer and under warranty I would totally do this!
Hey, Thanks for nothing people. I figured it out myself. It turns out I had a miniSD card I had been using with my laptop in the phone and it was formatted in a different format that the phone didn't recognize (I use Linux on my laptop, and Linux uses different file formats then Windows). The different format must have caused the phone to freeze, because after I took the miniSD card out, the phone went back to working properly (unless smacking it on the table whenever it would freeze helped. lol jk jk). I hope this helps someone else who has trouble with a freezing eNV. Adios Beeches, -OP13
