-   I have a Samsung LE52M87BD, and regularly the screen goes dark, a few seconds after turning the TV on. I noticed that the backlight is off. Sound etc is still working. Also a buzzing noise is heard at the back of the TV, before the backlight is automatically switched off. This problem always occurs when the TV is turned on the frist time of the day. I then can turn it off and on as often as I can, but only the next day it will function normal again. It first happened once in a few months, now it happens once in a few weeks.

I'll go through the basics that you can try yourself. It might be a problem with the backlighting, which usualy is very cheap to fix - take a flash light, dim the lights in the room and flash the light into the screen to see if theres any picture visible. If so then you're looking at a backlight or backlight inverter failure, like I said, cheap.
second(or first) thing to try is changing the cables you have the TV connected with, they might not be seated well, or have some other problem.

I bought this TV just few years ago and paid lot of money for. Just after few months we started noticing the screen turning red from the middle of the screen. Since LCD was new tech than, I though this is how it suppose to be as the complete home theater was set up professionals.
Red is getting lot brighter and all around the screen. Wonder if this is easy and cheaper fix instead of new TV.

I have 4 of these units with essentially the same problem, but to different degrees. Using the s-video or rca inputs (component and dvi not tested) I get sound from my source but I can barely make out the picture, same problem when accessing the menu. The screen is bright, so I doubt it is a back-light issue. On the units where I could see well enough, I adjusted contrast and brightness settings with no success. I bought these 4 units at auction, and there were dozens more with the same listed problem. Do you think these are worthy of repair? Thanks
