Mitsubishi WD-62525 Red Status Light After Cap Replacement

I just finished replacing 6 CAPs on my power board after having the flashing green power led symptom.

After putting the set back together I get the steady red status led and the error code indicates 41 (short detected).

Any suggestions.

PS. I replaced two caps on the power board 6 months ago and the TV worked fine after words.

I'm not sure if my problem is exactly the same? I turn the set on from the remote and it turns on then turns off. It will not stay on even when I use the power button on the TV. It just will not stay on.

I know a lot about these sets---I did warranty work on them when they were new and later---Set was designed in Germany and the company based in England---for a while the parts were very hard to get---but the last time I fixed one there was a Parts center here in the USA.

Set is basically modular in design--meaning if the problem cannot be traced down and found you can buy from the USA SOURCE a replacement board.

Answer a few questions and I will try to help you.

1.) Before the set failed did the picture fill the entire screen from right to left and top to bottom?

2.) When it shuts off does the power light stay green or go to red? (standby).

3.) Does the set make any unusual sound or have a burning smell?

THERE IS ONE VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS SET--THERE ARE ABOUT 8 CERAMIC CAPS ON THE "MAIN" board----One of them opens (does not short!)

This cap is almost in the middle of a group of brown caps (the larger ones never fail--it is fairly small) I think I still have some new ones here--if you need I can look for them and tell you what markings id the cap you are looking for.

Someone has to unsolder each cap from the board and check them with a cap meter---if they find one open---this is the problem.

Green power light blinking all the time on TV

Yea capacitors need to be tested with a multimeter. The don't have to look bad to be bad.

If they are bad you can fix it yourself.

There is a guide with pictures to help you.

It is easily fixable for about $10 worth of capacitors

Or a whole kit with all tools needed for $36

http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/product_info.php/pName/v21v19-mitsubishi-dm-repair-kit/cName/repair-kits

That is an extremely common problem with Mitsubishi tvs old and new. It can be fixed easily and cheaply for those willing to use their hands.

Refer to this guide to replace the capacitors on your DM Power Circuit Board part # 935C9860. You could also have someone else do it for you for $100

Paid Rebuild Service: http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=PWB-PM-ASSY+REBUILD+SERVICE

That fixes the problem most of the time.

After replacing capacitors is you still get green light try replacing the EEprom. EEprom board also known as the E2P board is part number 935C978001

Sony KV-36XBR800 won't turn on and red led on the front blinks 6 times

Hello,
For 6 blinks Pls check following area.

Low HV Shutdown:
On the D Board.
Check IC8004/pin 7 should be 7.4v.
Check IC8006/pin 2 should be 2.5v if lower will trigger shutdown by causing pin 1 to turn on.
Check IC8006/pin 3 reference voltage 2.2v.
IC8006/pin 1 normally at 0v. If high
turns D5007 ON which turns the latch circuit Q6532,
Q6530, and Q6527 ON and turns the AC relay RY6501 OFF.

And NOTE: 6 blinks also can be Low B+ protection.

Unregulated 7.5 v from the power supply to 5v reg IC504 on the A Board. 5v to M Board Q2314

to CPU IC2300/pin 43. If 5v missing set will shutdown with 6 blinks.I think this will help you to solve this issue..

Dont forgety to Rate!!

Good Luck

Kids.

Dead, led flashing red/green at first, then going to red standby
Replace C604 (1000uF, 16v) elec. cap. It is in the decoupling circuit for the 5 volt supply
Red led blinks on / off, TV does not turn via power button and/or remote but after 20 minutes or so it turns on and works fine
Replace R902, R901, R905, R903, R900A, Q902, and possibly the two (one small and one large) capacitors in the section labeled as the power supply. The board will be black under the components that are bad. Q902 is an NPN transistor and is hard to find.

Mitsubishi HD1080 TV will not turn on.

On my Mitsubishi WD65-613 it was 4 capacitors on the DM board. They are 1000mf 16v, replaced with 4 1000mf 25v. TV is working great.

Wont turn on

the standby light flashing red is probably flashing a code, as sony uses this self diagnostic setup...for instance, my tv is flashing 5 quick flashes, pauses a second or so and repeats the 5 flashes...which should mean a problem with the AKB circuit (now if I could just find out what to replace). To see the diagnostic screen, Press the following buttons: Display, Channel 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
