    Well I was told it is probably with my mother board where my cd rom is plugged in to it. I am checking on getting a new motherboard now.

    My laptop doesn't boot my windows 7 DVD please help me

    This problem can be happen if DVD ROM of laptop is not working or BIOS setting is not set for booting from DVD drive. If DVD ROM is not working then change it. Go to BIOS setting and choose first boot device as DVD ROM if it is BIOS setting problem. This can solve your problem. It is always good to buy licensed copy of OS and other software.

    Thank you..

    My laptop does not want to boot, it ask a bootable disk, I created one with ISO image, when I insert that cd, it asked me to press any key, and if a press any key it will brought me to many option...

    For that you need to set first bootable device as cd/dvd rom in bios. When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or del or ALt+F2 key to enter in bios then go to boot menu and set first boot device priority as cd/dvd rom then save settings and exit from bios then it boot with bootable disk. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

    ABS Mayhem G3 Laptop: I recently acquired the "Windowsclick" virus, and in the process, my antivirus software went nuts, and messed up my registry files. The computer won't recognize my CD drive,though...

    okay first things first. look for your opening screen and click the appropriate button to boot into the BIOS screen. once in there move to Boot Options and select the appropriate device to boot from which is your dvd rom. in this screen also check to see what priority number your hard drive is in. if it is before the dvd rom select the correct options in your bios to move the hard drive down to the lowest priority. your dvd rom should be first boot device then usb second and so on making sure your hard drive is last. now go to save your changes and make sure you save your changed options and exit and reboot. now see if a screen comes up during the boot screen again that allows you to select boot device. some units have an option some dont. if your laptop has it good select it. its usually f12 or something like that. in that screen make sure you select dvd/cd rom to boot and click , then click your enter key a few times and you should be able to see your black screen toss a line up that says press any key to boot from cd. i have found that in some cases you have to tap the enter key to activate the dvd rom, dont ask me why. it sounds stupid but it works for some reason. once you are in this screen you can now restore you drive to its original factory settings....Good Luck! Let me know if you have any questions!

    How can I boot from USB in a Thinkpad T22?

    I assume with "boot menu" you mean the BIOS boot menu (the one you get to if you press F12 during start up, before the Windows screen appears.)
    1. Go to "Enter Setup"
    2. Go to "Config", click "Enter"
    3. Go down to "USB", click "Enter"
    4. Make sure that "USB Bios Support" is enabled.
    5. (Hit "Enter" again and choose between "enabled" and "disabled")
    6. Hit "Esc" twice to go back to the main page.
    7. Go down to "Startup", click "Enter"
    8. Choose "Boot"
    9. Check if "USB CD" is in the list of boot options or excluded form booting.
    10. Hit F10, confirm any changes you made (click "Enter" for 'yes') and reboot.
    11. Tap or hold down F12 again and you should see the boot option menu again.

    Note: I am not 100% sure if you can boot from a DVD externally.
    I booted from the internal DVD drive fine with a Linux LiveCD. It is possible that the T22 BIOS does not support external booting. Check you version - the latest release from IBM is version 16ET32WW (1.12), release date 06/03/2004. You find that info here.

    I would really appreciate if you could come back here and leave a comment, so I (and maybe others?) can learn form this ;-)

    Good luck!

    Aspire 5100 how do i run recovery cd's. notebook won't boot up

    hi LWeller1l what you computer is trying to do is boot from a network and it's not picking one up so it gives you an error message, to check if it's just this....... go into your bios and check the boot order it should have or dvd/rom drive as first boot option then the .........hd meaning harddisk then the pxe boot, if they in this in this order and the pxe option is not above the harddisk in the order you may have harddisk problem. when the computer boots it uses this order to start, so in this order it checks the cd/rom or dvd/rom for a bootable disk, if none is in there it then tries to boot off the harddisk, if this fails then look to the pxe boot option which is network boot option off a server,........another thing is you if you don't have server you can disable the pxe boot option completly in if they are in this order in the bios then you may have to re-install the operating system or the disk may be corrupted or failed.

    Hello! am Fabian,
    when i turned the computer on it tells me windows did not start successfully. it wont ...

    to solve this problem you need at list the operating system installation CDs/DVDs and a pair of screw drivers.
    using the screw drivers, open the system and carefully unistall any or all newly installed hardware device. try to boot again, if the system boots correctly, you may need to consult the manufacturers of the new hardwares you just unistalled for installation guide. but if this does not solve your problem you will need to boot your system using the operating system installation CD/DVD. all you need do is;
    1. access your systems BIOs setup utility program by pressing the "Del", "F1","F2" or "F10" as the case may be. select its advance option and set its boot sequence/priority to boot from CD/DVD first then save the setting and exit.
    2. insert the operating system CD/DVD ROM, when the system prompts to boot from the CD/DVD ROM press any key and wait to allow the setup initialisation process to complete. once complete, the system show 3 options from which you press the "R" key and wait next it prompt you to mount onto your WINDOWS installation simply press "1" and press the "Enter" key then enter your password if any and also press the "Enter" key.
    3. on the command prompt enter the following command;
    chkdsk /p then press the"Enter" key wait for the process to complete then restart your computer.

    if the problem persist you will need to reinstall your operating system. visit microsoft website for detailed installation guide.

    i hope this information will help.
