Re: how do I switch off child lock from my neff oven 1641
So, you should have a "-s-" being displayed if you have the child lock on.
The switch for selecting the oven mode( oven, fan oven, grill etc)
-from its off position, turn it one click left so the light comes on, and then click it back to off. Do this three times in quick succession. The "-s-" should now have disappeared and you can use your oven again.

the chid lock is activated!! how did you manage to do that accidentally??? the instruction manual tells you how to disable it from memory it is turning the oven mode selector switch 3 times beetween the light position and off quickly.
I also had an error 5 on my Neff B1691 cooker. This indicates that a child lock has been set. To unlock you just push and hold the central control button in for about 7-8 seconds. Do the same again to set the lock again...
We have a similar Neff Oven - it is a child proof lock that you have activated. To deactivate - turn the left hand dial that selects the mode of cooking - three times to the left and back (turn it from 12 oclock to 11 oclock and back) in quick succession.
I actually had the same problem and got the solution. Maybe its a bit late, but hopefully there will be somebody who find this useful as well.
Its not an error. The -5- indicates that the oven is "children protected". - Put the left ON/OFF switch into its OFF position (the left switch) - Turn it quickly 3 times: one click to the left and then one click back to right again [light position, Off position] => The message disappers.
If you do this again, the protection is switched on again.
