Don't be afraid!
tucked uinder the gasket on the outside of the cabinet you will find a groove on the gasket with the clamp nearly out of sight in the groove. the clamp can be of several forms - a plastic clamp with serrated jaws at the end which can be seperated or a wire clamp with a spring holding the ends together and providing tension. you won't hurt anything if you just gently prize the clamp off with a screwdriver
get back to me if you want more help - it really is just meccano. the main tip is to lubricate the gasket with washing up fluid

The code f-DL displays whn I try to start the machine . I was thinking the door lock was jambed so I used a flat tip screw driver to jog the lock. The problem now is the lock is now locked and won't...

Remove the screws attaching the bottom flange of the lower front panel to the machine cabinet then pull the panel down and off. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily. Once the panel is off, reach up along the inside of the front panel and locate the bottom of the door lock and switch assembly on the right side. Locate the tear-drop shaped tab then gently pull it down until a click is heard.

You can also remove the door gasket retaining hoop by stretching apart the retaining spring at the bottom of the door opening. Gently peel the part of the door gasket near the door lock/latch assembly off the lip of the right side of the door opening. Remove enough of the door gasket to access the door lock/latch assembly behind the front panel. Pull down gently on the release tab until a click is heard.

The FdL code indicates a door lock failure and you need to replace the door lock/switch assembly if the problem persists after resetting the door lock. Click on the link below for the details of the procedure.

I have a 110.23022101 model top load washer,i want to remove the cabinet to find the problem.

lift the front of the machine and support it with wood blocks (or something suitable). Remove the end panels of the control panel (dashboard if you will) and remove the clips that retain the cabinet (this might be a little tricky). Lift up and towards you on the front of the cabinet and it should come out.

Can someone please give me DETAILED instructions how to remove the front of my washer so that I can replace the lid switch. The plastic part that the plunger pushes into has broken. Thank you in advance.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Also see the following Detailed description:

Basically, the top console screws into the cabinet. When you remove the screws from the console and pull it forward, then tilt up, (unplugging the Lid Switch) you can pull the cabinet toward you and off.

Make sure to align the tabs on the bottom of the cabinet with the slots in the base of the washer after you've installed a new switch and be sure to plug the switch back together before lowering the console.

GE #WHDVH626 Front Loading Machine - Door gasket Leaks, Need to replace gasket, HOW?

Remove the top panel, the control panel, the toe panel, and the front panel to replace the door gasket. Disconnect power to the washer before servicing to avoid electric shock.

Remove the top panel by removing the top cover and the three 7-mm hex-head screws that attach the rear of the top panel to the cabinet. Remove the top cover by removing the three Phillips-head screws that hold it in place then insert a putty knife blade or similar tool along the top seam between the cover and the control panel. Lightly tap the cover off rearward; slide the top panel rearward then lift it off the cabinet.

Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops; push down the locking tab, and then pull the dispenser drawer all the way out. Once the drawer is out, remove the Phillips-head screw from the recess of the drawer opening.

Remove the four Phillips-head screws that attach the control panel to the control panel cover. Release the tab on the right side of the control panel from the bracket inside the cabinet.

Lift the top edge of the control panel to release the three tabs that hold its top in place. Push the control panel towards the left, then release the side tab.

Label the wires and mark the connectors matching the wires before disconnecting the wires from the control panel.

Remove the three Phillips-head screws at the bottom of the toe panel holding it to the cabinet, then pull the toe panel down and off the cabinet.

Open the washer door, then remove the three Phillips-head screws holding the door switch and lock assembly to the front panel.

The door gasket is held to the lip of the door opening by a wire and a spring hidden in the fold of gasket. Grasp the wire at the spring location using a pair of needle-nose pliers and stretch the spring to clear the gasket, and then remove the wire and spring assembly. Peel off the door gasket from the lip of the door opening into the drum.

Remove the four Phillips-head screws that secure the front panel on its four corners to the cabinet. Lift up the front panel then remove it from the two hooks and all the way off the cabinet.

Pull down the top of the gasket, and then remove the nozzle from the gasket. Remove the gasket from the water inlet pipe, and then loosen the 7-mm bolt that tightens the wire holding the gasket to the outer tub lip. Take note of the position of the gasket, and then remove it and the wire from the lip of the outer tub.

Install the new gasket into the lip of the outer tub aligning the notch in the gasket with the arrow located on the top of the lip of the outer tub, and then secure it with the wire and the bolt. Do not over tighten the wire with the bolt. Allow a gap of about 1.25 inches between the ends of the wire. Over tightening the wire may tear the gasket.

Insert the nozzle into the gasket ensuring that the washer is placed on the outside and that the nozzle is aligned with the dent on the inside of the gasket. Insert the water inlet pipe into the gasket, and then put the gasket inside the drum.

Reinstall the front panel back into position on the hooks then secure it to the cabinet with the four Phillips-head screws.

Slide the toe panel up into the cabinet then secure it with the three Phillips-head screws.

Reconnect the wires to the control panel. Snap the control panel back into the cabinet, and then secure it with the screw at the recess of the drawer opening.

Slide the top panel back in place then secure its rear with the three 7mm hex-head screws to the cabinet. Reinstall the top cover and secure it the three Phillips-head screws.

I need to get the front off my washer to see what is leaking when it drains it is modle 11092581200

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?pop=true&modelNumber=11092581200+

Also see the following for how to remove the cabinet.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=137

Once the cabinet is off, I'd check the hoses to and from the pump as well as the gaskets at the bottom of the tub.

My front load kenmore washer door gasket is garbelled

Something probably got caught in the seal and pulled it out of place. If u run washer so that it fills up and starts tumbling,,, and there is no water leak,, there is a good chance u can repair this yourself. So if there is no water leaking,,, you can try and take out the bottom front panel and twisting, or shoving it back into place. If there is water leaking,,, than chances are its ripped or broken, and will need to be completely replaced

Difficulty installing brass clips on kenmore model 110.92274100

first off the clips should go right in place if the cabinet is installed properly..with the lid open tip the cabinet and place it in place.. the very front of cabinet must go UNDER the front frame plate of washer. And the side then sit atop the frame.(in the very rear, perhaps 2 inches in from either side there is as a small slot cut into the cabinet and a corresponding tab on the washer frame itself. it should literally sit right into place(might take a little finagling, but it'll fit nicely.. when this happens the brass clips, will first hook into the back wall of cabinet and then with a little pressure push and snap into the cabinet you removed
