Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
It's only a networking problem. (800 series error codes)
To solve this problem, ı checked my network devices(cable lan and wi-fi lan). And ı see the wi-fi's cable is out.
To solve this problem instead of just put the cable, and all is ok...
Good luck for all to live this problem.
Sorry for my eng.

Solution is simple... unplug ALL cables from unit. Wait a bit, plug everything back in and then restart.

FIXED IT!!!! YEAH!!!!! READ PLEASE IT WILL WORK FOR YOU!!!!!
Had same problem tonight. tried to login to playstation network said I needed to update before login. So I updated got to 70% then failed. 3x then got the error code. Could not do nothing after that. Then found out my warranty expired. Called Tech supp. but live in hawaii so they were closed. Mad as can be & told the wife. She has a way of making things work when they shouldn't. She went browsing on the internet to see if there were any fixes. Everyone said send it back will cost $150 with expired warranty. Wife then unpluged it and plugged it back in & let it run the update again. Worked like a charm. Even solved the problem i was having with my controllers having to be on cables to work. PLEASE TRY TURNING IT OFF FIRST. THEN DISCONNECTING IT COMPLETELY FOR 10 SECS. PLUG IT ALL BACK IN AND LET IT RUN THE UPDATE. BETTER THAN HAVING TO SEND IT BACK & GET A NEW ONE SINCE SONY DOES NOT HAVE CODE OR ANY OTHER INFO ON IT. BEST OF LUCK.

I think you should contact them. ;-]
Sounds like an internal error with the hardware.

Tips for a great answer:
Sep 20, 2011 | Video Game Consoles & Games
Oct 09, 2010 | Sony PlayStation® 3 (80GB) Console
If you are getting this error it is called the no display error.
The reason that it happens is because the GPU which deals with all of your graphics has overheated. You just need to stop the heat build up in order to make it work again.
The first way you can fix the No Display Error is by sending it in but bear in mind for this problem there is a $150 charge for the repair which is pretty steep!
