THE LAMP IS BROKEN

Hello,

First of all, unplug the TV from the wall outlet.
You have a few thousand volts going through your ballast, be very careful!
It's also a good idea to let the TV cool down for a good 15-20 minutes as the bulb itself can get extremely hot.
Locate the lamp enclosure door; it's usually at the back of your television.
There is a screws on the bottom of the lamp door, remove them using a Philips screw driver.
Take the lamp door out by dismounting it from the bottom.
inside you'll find the lamp enclosure,
On the side of the plastic enclosure there is a screw that secures the enclosure, uninstall it with a Philips screwdriver.
Pull it out the old enclosure from your TV and slide in the new one.
Reinstall the screw on the lamp enclosure.
Place the lamp door back in its place.
Secure it tightly with the screws on the bottom of the door.

Take care and good luck

Samsung HLS5679WX/XAA DLP TV set. Problem when I turn on the TV switch, lid on the LCD & Standby lamps back & forth, instead of turning on the screen.

Check for a defective lamp. Open the access door where the lamp is, remove it and see if visually it looks defective.

I purchased the replacement lamp. I'm looking for

2004 Model Sony--

Unplug the TV set!

The XLU2100 LAMP IS accessed from the front of the set---you have to remove the front grill below the screen--if you look on the back on either side you will see a plastic knob you can back out by hand(Black)

Then you have to pull the grill off(it will resist this) start from the right and then the left as it is held in by several plastic pegs.

Usually there are some plastic tabs on the top edge so when you get it to release you may have to lift from the bottom to free it.

If you bought an original lamp from Sony it should have come with a allen wrench. Once the grill is removed you will see the lamp door-it is marked and usually only one or two screws.

Once you open and remove the door you will find the lamp--secured by two silver allen bolts--back the bolts out(they will spin free but not come completely loose) and with the handle on the cartridge--pull the lamp out.

Slide the new lamp in carefully and do not touch the face of the lamp with your hand--you need to make sure the two pin plug engages correctly when you do this--once in tighten the allen bolts down and put the door back on--set will not function if the door is removed!

You can at this point plug the set back in to see if it works---The lamp door must be installed or the set will shut off!

If all is good---align and snap the grill back in place and secure the two wheel like screws on the back that secure it to the case.

I do this here for free so if this information helps you please take a minute and give me a vote here---I am here to help people.

How do get to the lamp to replace it

All models are different, but the lamp door is at the rear/ R. hand side close to tyhe bottom quarter, looking from the back. It is a small door that some even have a single screw to hold the door closed. If you have the original manual there are details in there of where to find the door on your model and how to change the lamp

Have you tried physically inspecting the halogen lamp? The lamp can be accessed through a door at the side of the set. You need to unscrew the lock on the door and loosen two screws on the bottom of the halogen lamp housing. After loosening the screws you can pull out the lamp housing through its handle. Check if the bulb inside the housing is broken. Look for powdery deposits on the glass or lamp reflector. This are indications of a defective halogen lamp.

Mitsubishi WD52527 lamp light

Replace the lamp, model 915P028010.  There is a lamp door on the back left bottom of the set (while looking at it from the back).  Take off the door (two screws) and then take off the two screws holding the lamp in place and pull on the handle.  Replace the lamp the same way.  Then make sure to clean the air filters (below the lamp, two screws; and bottom right).  If the set gets too hot it may destroy the set and/or the lamp.  Also, don't turn the set on and off again within a few moments.  It will destroy the lamp.  Take it from someone who had the same problem, keep the filters clean by cleaning at least once every couple of months....Dave

Lamp location

No, that was wrong advice. On this model, there is a large door on the right side (as you face the screen) of the TV at the bottom. Remove several screws to take the cover off. Inside, looking along the back of the TV (not toward the screen), you'll see what looks like a wire bail (handle) on a square inset piece about 3 inches square. Remove the screws and pull on the wire bail and the lamp housing will come out with the lamp contained inside. Make sure you unplug the TV before doing any of this. If you are replacing the entire housing with a new lamp you can just plug in the new housing and replace the screws and cover. If you are placing a new bulb in the existing housing you take off 4 small screws and remove the metal cage from the housing, remove and replace the bulb the same way the original is in there, put it back together, and you're done.
