I had the same problem with my phones (Panasonic KX-TGA801CB). I could hear people calling in, but they couldn'd hear me. When I dialed out, the dialing code came back and I could not reach the party I was calling.

Note 1: One of our four phones was misplaced, i.e. was not "parked" in its base for a few days prior to this malfunction and its battery was low. I located the missing phone by using the intercom feature and following the ring into the closet and then into the pocket of my pants...

Note 2: On the screen of the phone parked at the base a mysterious word "BOOST" appeared out of nowhere. Did the Base sensed that the missing phone was dying?

Anyhow, I took the battery out of the faulty(?) phone and put it back again and - magic! - the thing works ok!!!

Call display does not work. There is no display for the soft key on the left.

Changing from pulse to tone panasonic phone

Touch the following keys: Menu 0 5 1 and then select 1 (tone, the factory default) or 2. Then Save (a softkey with the label in the LCD screen) and Off (opposite Talk on the keypad).

The manual for the Panasonic KX-TG5664 is available from Panasonic here: http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/KXTG5664.PDF . See page 17 for setting the Dialing mode.

I hope this helps.

Semi Dead Panasonic KX-TGA100N with ''C533'' displayed.

Panasonic KX-TG1050N Cordless Phone. Base handset (No. 1, KX-TGA100N) does not work, no keypad response or dial tone. Green indicator message light ON (should only work with the TG1000N base unit) all the time till battery runs down. Display shows message ?C533?. Can still send and receive calls on extension phones 2 and 3.
