Have 22HP BS V-Twin in a 2010 Husqvarna rider w/25 total hours. Recently won't cold start without priminig. It will crank and crank cold til the battery runs down. A shot of starting fluid and it runs for the day and will restart while hot. I have changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plug, added fuel stabilzer,carb cleaner and added preminum gas. Any help would be apppreciated.

Nearly all petrol mower engines need to have the 'choke' engaged to start from cold. This enriches the fuel mixture, and is similar to priming. If there is a prime 'button' then you will probably have to use this all the time. This is normal.

However, you should check with your dealer to see if this is an unusual situation.

I quess I need to be more clear. The mower will only start with starting fluid and runs fine after that. It will not start cold even with the choke. It always need starter fluid to fire-up.

Hi, they have had issues with the fuel shut off solenoids in the bottom of the carby not holding open which intermittantly starves the carb of gas. This would be the first thing I would have replaced, especially if the plug is dry but you still have spark when it stalls out. Regards Phil.

My husqvarna YTH2448 with BS 24OHV ELS725 started knocking and leaking oil from right side. I guess it threw a rod? I want to get another 24HP motor and replace it. Will any other motor's bolt pat

most all motors will boltt up u need to make sure the crank is the same diameter and length besides even if it didnt bolt right up u can always drill new holes

Husqvarna ft900 won't start

did you open the choke all the way? also, what was the temperature when you attempted this at the onset? if it is cold outside, then set the tiller in the sun for at least a half hour then try starting.

22hp bs wont idle

always check spark and compression first spark needs to be blue and compression should be 120 but will barely run on 80psi if both are fine rebuild and acid dip carb

It sounds well flooded, remove the spark plug, with the kill switch to off, crank the engine five or six times to evacuate any excess fuel in the cylinder, leave the machine for an hour or so, re fit the plug and attempt starting with no choke.

Try replacing the gas in the fuel system. The manufacturers are telling us that gas over 30 days is considered bad gas.
