Hyundai 42inch plasma tv

have got 2 or3 1inch thick black lines running top to bottom of screen how do i get rid of the black line

If these are thick black lines, this is most likely line frequency
noise entering the set. you may have a leakage from the DC ground on the secondary side of the powersupply to the AC side, or a bad filter capacitor(s). Most of the time it is the filter caps that give these types of problems.

If you are connected to cable TV service, or an outside antenna you can also have this problem from an AC ground loop return. Also if there is a device such as a VCR connected to the TV and it has problems, it can cause this as well...

Did anyone find a solution for this problem? I have the same TV and it has a single black line down the middle of the screen.

Had the same problem.  Was quoted $800 to fix.  Searched the internet for 6 months and found this thread on avforums.com

Read through all the posts.  Very simple fix, but you have to have some mechanical inclinations or you can cause more problems than you started with.  I was up to 5 of the black lines, but decided to attempt the soldering these guys did and fixed it all for the cost of a soldering iron!  Even if you decide not to attempt it, it gives you somewhere to start to tell a technician.

My too, did you figure out the problem? I just have one 1" thick fuzzy black stripe from top to bottom that is not pefectly straight.

If this set has impact damage, chances are the panel is damaged. The FPC cables connecting the panel may have connection issues as well, this would be repairable, replacing the panel itself is not economical.
