Hi

You have not mentioned which operating system you are using.

You might have changed the defaul audio settings.

Vista/Windows 7: Start > Cxontrol Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Hardware & Sound > Manage Audio Devices > highlight the external speakers from the list of devices > Set Default > Apply > OK > Restart computer.

Win XP: Start > Cxontrol Panel > Sounds Speech & Audio Devices > Hardware & Sound > Change the Speaker Settings > Advanced > Speaker Setup - select Internal Stereo Speakers > Apply > OK > Restart computer.

I hope this helps.

Yaesu FT-710 Headphones Not Muting speaker

Inside the headphone socket there is a small lever that disconnects the feed to the speakers. When working normally, you would still get sounds in the headphones or sound from the speaker. Try spraying some switch contact cleaner into the socket to clean that switch.

Laptop headphone port not working

First of all check all driver/software settings, secondly ensure you have the latest driver for your sound device installed. Then proceed with the following:

Have you tried another set of headphones, did they work? Do you get sound from the internal speakers if nothing is plugged into the headphone jack? Do you still get sound from the internal speakers when you plug in your headphones?
If you answered yes to most of, if not all of those questions you are likely to need your jack socket replacing.

If you haven't tried another set of headphones, or other 3.5mm jack audio device, do it and let me know the results.

If the answer is no to any of the other questions please let me know which ones and I will try to offer more advise.

My 40bv801b has no sound

Try sound on headphone socket, if TV has one.
If sound comes, the problem is in the speakers or connecting circuits.

No sound from built in speakers.

The bleep cold be just a bleep device separate from the speakers. It looks like a round piece of aluminum with a large dot of white solid past on it with a wire attached.
1st. make sure the volume is up all the way.
Then try using a headphone just to make sure the sound card is working.
If the headphones work then it should be a setting somewhere.
Sometime the switch that turns off the speakers when headphones are plugged in gets stuck, try plunging them in and unplugging them out while music is playing.
If they don't work the sound card may be blown but it is still possible it is not.
Also, try Keyboard shortcuts for mute and UN-mute.
Try going to control panel and bring up the sound app and try different options in there for mono and or what ever it has, you may find the answer there.
If the headphones work but nothing else works you can always plug external speakers in the headphone plug.

My headphones will work but my desktop speakers will not why?

If your speakers work fine when plugged into the headphones socket on the front of the system, then there is no fault with them.
If the sound through the speakers is very low when plugged into the rear panel socket, that would suggest that you may be plugged into the line out socket rather than the speaker socket and that there is a mismatch of the impedence between the socket and speakers.
If you have three audio sockets on the rear panel, try the speakers in the second output socket (but not in the microphone socket) and see if it makes a difference.
You could try the same test using the headphones - do you still get good sound levels with the headphones when plugged in to the rear panel socket?
If neither the speakers nor headphones give good sound when plugged in to the rear panel, then you may have a problem with either the sound card if the sockets are on a separate PCI card, or with a poor connection on the cable to the socket header bracket from the motherboard pins for audio for integrated adapters.
