Hi, I am using a toshiba satellite L645 which i got last December. I am now receiving the following error on boot... "Intel UNDI, PXE - 2.0 (build 083) Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel...

it seems that your harddisk is not dettect or may be your os has failed to boot.
turn on your laptop and press f2 to enter system setting
check on main field your hdd (ide configuration) is there any hdd installed? if there is no hdd instaled, it means that you need to replace your harddisk with a new one.
if there is any hdd now check your boot setting (boot priority), set your first boot in cd room and the second in hdd (in order to make easier instalation if the windows has broken) then save and exit.

I have a toshiba satelite P205-S6257, I have bootmgr missing and when I press ctrl+alt+del to restart is not working, is coming back to the same screen and message. and is not recognizing the recovery...

There's a possiblity that the problem is with the HDD due to bad sectors, you will need to reimage the HDD or better replaced it just to make sure. By the way, how did you run the recovery disc? You need to boot from the disc itself, try putting in the disc inside the drive then turn off the computer, the turn it back on then keep on tapping F12, some other laptop automatically boot from the disc but others need to choose first the boot sequence, you will see there boot from HDD, ODD, and LAN, you need to choose ODD then press enter, there will be a message saying that you need to press any key immediately, press any key immediately because one you miss that, you will need to start from the scratch again.

Hope this will help...

Hello smart_star_4,

Thank you for choosing

First, go to the start menu, and select Windows Update. If there are any updates, or your sound driver is out of date, or not the right one, or not compatible, it will be detected as such. Upon this, if true, it will give you the option to download the most current driver for your sound card.

If not, uninstall the current driver, or if the option is given, select, default driver.

If this as well does not work, restart your computer, and at the prompt (top of screen) hit F2 or F11 (whichever is given as the appropriate selection) and enter setup. When Setup is opened, you will see a File Menu. Starting witth the left tab, select F9 (see command options at the bottom of the screen-command may differ) Select the command (F9) to set the Default Settings. Do this for all the tabs. The last tab will be the Exit Tab. Exit and Save Settings. Once Setup has exited, the system will reboot. If the problem still persists: Try re-installing the drivers from the setup disc for XP.

I hope this information helps you get your sound working again.

Thank you for choosing

Does it display a drive letter? If not right click it then assign a drive letter.
If after you set a drive letter then it should be accessible.

if still after this the same problem exists then you must use a recovery program to recover the files on the drive as the drive most likely is corrupt and defectivce.
