This is my daughter`s monitor. same model. Green light flashes but no display. Looking very carefully I can see that the screen illuminates ever-so-slightly on and off. I think the problem may be in the power supply circuitry. If I can find a circuit diagram I`ll open it up and see if I can find anything.

I`ve opened it up and there are several 470uF capacitors in the power circuitry which are obviously bulging, meaning they are in considerable distress. I am ordering some replacements and will fit them when they arrive and see if they get it working. I`ll let you know :)
By the way, I don`t recommend this for anyone not versed in this kind of repair. Messing about inside the power circuit of a monitor can KILL - even unplugged, unless you know what you are doing, so please take care.

    Cured!

I replaced all seven electrolytic capacitors in the low-voltage secondary side of the power supply circuit and the monitor now works fine.

The circuit numbers are all around C212, C213 etc... and the values are 470uF / 25v (six off) and 220uF / 25v (one off). All are rated at 105 degrees C

    I hope this helps.

My lcd screen switch goes green and a message appears "going to sleep" and the switch light goes yellow

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor needs replaced.

Filter

baillie,
The filter is a matter of personal preference. Your monitor itself doesnt need it.
If you get a lot of eyestrain while working on your computer, then it will help you.
