Question about Kenmore 53542 / 53544 Side by Side Refrigerator
I am not able to remove the old filter from the fridge to replace the new one. The filter in this fridge is located inside the fridge.. but just would not budge. Any solutions will be appreciated. Thanks.
Tell me,the filter is it brazed on or is it on with a copper nut?
If you fix a filter remember that silver solder gets real hard if its exposed to cold air the hole time.
Let me know and i can help you with this problem..

It's a shot...but if I recall correctly the rubber seal thats between the door and the fridge can be peeled back or removed, and underneath are the screws that hold the inside panels on...
I would peel the seal back a little at a time until I actually locate a screw...then once located... I would feel more confident about the removal of the entire seal. Keep in mind the seal is much easier to remove than to replace...I used baby oil in some place to replace the seal...Good Luck!
