Did you run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor before you installed Win 7. You may find that windows 7 doesn't allow the use of your graphics hardware. With the issue of Win 7, Microsoft decided that they would only allow the use of hardware that had been tested by themselves. To enforce this all drivers for Win 7 onwards require "Signed Drivers" to operate properly. You may need to buy a Win 7 ready graphics card to continue with a stable computer.

Hello,
for those who have a DELL Inspiron 15 and have problems with video cards
Intel HD Graphics 4000 and AMD Radeon HD 7670 and WIN 7 x64 operating systems
I recommend this link where to download the compatible drivers and it works.
at first glance if you download from the manufacturer's website amd drivers it will show two video cards Intel HD Graphics 4000 and AMD Radeon HD 7670 but these drivers do not work and AMD motherboard because the screen turns on and off without interruption.

Try to update your driver using windows, Right click and "search driver automatically" from manage (Right click on Computer>Manage>Device drivers) or check in this website http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/
I recommend you to use "Service Tag" (you find on bottom) to find exact drivers..

Hi there,

Did you get this laptop with the Windows 7 installed or you upgraded from a lower version to Windows 7?

Windows 7 requires a huge amount of RAM (memory) and a good compatible video card. (because of the aero feature). If you don't meet the recommended system requriements, there is a big possiblity that your system will slow down.

If you have a good hardware and it is still slow, check your computer for possible virus infection or any application that consumes system resources. (e.g. Antivirus Software when running a full scan)

How can i used aero in windows 7 ultimate

Basically if your laptop''s Video Card or GPU has already the minimum requirements to run windows aero it will be automatically be turned on upon installation of Windows 7.
However in some cases windows aero will not be enabled if your driver did not match your Video Card so remember to install the right driver for your Video Card.
A quick way to know that your laptop actually can run windows aero is by running the Windows Experience Index. Right click on computer then click properties. The score (both base score and subscore for graphics component) should be equal or higher than 3.0 for Aero to work.

Hi i have dell inspiron 630m and i use the win7 as opreating system, ihave problem with video card. the screen resolution. in dell site there is only win xp.

that model does not have video drivers for windows 7. you can still use 7 but you will have problems playing games (including solitare) and watching videos also you wont be able to use some aero features. your stuck with that 800X600 resolution as long as your running windows 7

How do you do a factory reset without a system recovery disk on a dell 1300 inspiron laptop

for the computer reset or windows? computer reset: disconnect everything ( adapter, battery, etc) then hold the power button down for 30 seconds, connect adapter and turn on. windows: try to get an installation disk if you do not have one of the same copy that's on the computer, run but shortly into setup there is an option for system recovery, run it ( win 7 is listed as "repair my computer")

Start > run>type compmgmt.msc

then open properties of your VGA driver by right click on it
then select details like the image below After instaling win 7 (32x) on my dell inspiron - spcldoctor_2.jpgads/images/spcldoctor_2.jpg" alt="spcldoctor_2.jpg" class="h_mi" />

then select and copy hardware Id as shown image then paste and search in google
you will get your drivers...sure..

the problem is that my video card isn't recognised at all... "Video controller" listed in "Other devices" in Computer management, and I tried to search for driver automatically, but it said there's no driver for such device. In "Display adapters" is "Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset Family"... and now what? :) btw thx a lot for ur efforts :)

Yes you need to get Video driver for your Dell Inspiron 1300 and Windows 7.

There is no driver for this type of notebook on dell's website which is compatible with win 7. Any other suggestion?
