I just installed my G3. It pulsates fine and actually goes backwards instead of forward. Is this correct. Also, it seems to keep on the same path and cleaning only the path it has already cleaned going backwards. When it comes to the 90 degree steps, it vibrates to the exact path of what it just cleaned and keeps doing the same thing over and over again. I have a suction return on the side of the pool and have placed the 45 degree return away from the steps that is connect ot the pool. I also placed a weight nearly to the center of the hose line. It still is going backwards and forming the exact cleaning pattern and not cleaning most of the shallow end. I have a play pool that is nearly six feet deep and is pebble tec. Help Please!

It depends on what you call backwards. These do move in the direction of the hose, not opposite the hose. Try adjusting the hose weights per the installation manual and it should work fine for you.

That is a general problem with small synchronous motors, they can run either way. If they start backwards, they are supposed to reverse themselves. Usually, removing the plug and plugging it back in will correct. Eventually, you will need a new motor unit.
Probably. There may be a solenoid not working which is keeping the transmission from engaging the forward gear train but for it not to work at all is unusual.
i assume you mean 'on bottom' pool cleaner? let it run a full cycle, see if it reverses and goes forward. if not get the manual and re-check your programming set-up. good luck!
I'm not familiar with this type of vacuum, but if it's like most kirby's the powerhead gets all its motion off the tapered spindle underneath the powerhead. IF the belt is installed backwards on this spindle then all motions are reversed. there should be an arrow stamped into the blower housing. the belt should be installed so it is nearest to the arrow in the direction of the arrow on the housing.
