Question about ASUS P4S800-MX Motherboard
You are short of sound drivers. If you are happy to follow the instructions below okay, but if not, take the machine to a computer repair shop where this will be done for you at a charge.
Reloading the operating system will not necessarily reload your board drivers. Your motherboard is NOT a prescott 533, that is the processor that is fitted in it. You will need to read the signature on the motherboard in order to find the manufacturer, it is usually situated between the memory slots and will also give you the model number something like ASUS PW4800 DL or similar, that is the manufacturer is ASUS and the board model is PW4800 dl, so in this case you would need to go to the ASUS site, look for support and type in the model in the search area, Having dione that, you will need to download the board drivers - chip set, audio, graphics, and network drivers. You will then need to run the drivers in order to get the components to work properly.
