Replacing water "distribution" module in Artica side by side refrigerator

Hello,

Recently we had a leak at the junction of the water intake & the unit in the refrigerator. I have purchased a new part, WRX57X10026, bracket & valve asm, but I am unsure how to detach the wayer lines from the old asm to the ice mater, water dispenser.

Can you provide any assistance ?

Thanks

Dave A.

You should be able to look at your new valve to see openings for water lines. There should be little rings around each opening. Press down on these on your old valve to release water lines. Some older valve have threaded openings that just screw off. If that's the case, your new valve probably doesn't have the threads. Just push the plastic nut up the line and insert water line in new valve firmly until you feel it snap into place. Your water source line from wall will probably still screw onto valve.

its possible that your water tank has frozen up, try turning the refrig off and leave the doors open for about 10-15 mins and try it again. if that works just reset temp controls a little lower..

sounds like a leak where your incoming water line hooks to the water valves might just need to tighten the coupling or a mouse has chewed through one or both of the lines access the lines on the back and watch while some one gets water out the door to locate the leak

SOURCE: Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator No Water to Icemaker or Door

If you don't get water at the valve and it has power it is likely clogged. Take it apart and find most likely a part where the rubber has softened and clogged a hole that is supposed to open up when the valve is triggered. On mine it was at the bottom of a little metal pole that the rubber was bad. Clear the clogged hole and replace the bad seal and you should now have water.

SOURCE: Water Supply Line for Ice maker and Water dispenser is leaking.

Go to the hardware store and get a brass tube sleeve coupling; cut off the old tube end, slide the hex cap thread side out onto the tube, then; slide the tube sleeve onto the tube and, seat the tube into the supply valve then tighten the hex nut.
take the old parts to the hardware store to compare; the size is most likely 1/4" the part can be found in the "evaporative cooler parts" section of the hardware store

I have a GE Artica PSF26PGSA BB side by side refrigerator. Water collects in the bottom and runs out on to the floor. Any suggested solutions?

Clean it. You probably have a large dust collection in, under and on your units underbelly.
You should have a collection pan, underneith, that collects the runoff water and the heat from the componits will evaporate it before it fills too much.
You could also have a leak in the plumbing system that supplys your ice maker. When your valve opens, you should be ready with a flash light inorder to watch for any drips underneith the unit.
Could be a simple fix of just tightening up a bolt, or could be a repairman issue.

Good luck.

Out Profile Artica Model PS25NGMD will leak water from the bottom of the fridge on occasion. When it leaks it leaks a lot. Sometimes it will go days without leaking and then leak a lot.

If you remove the bottom kick panel below the doors you will see a connector that connects the water supply for the door to the tube coming out of the bottom of the door. Take it off / on might get a good seal if not you should be able to buy another. I found a couple places online that have all the parts to this model.

Temperature in refrigerator will not stay set. It keeps getting colder. I have a GE Artica model PSS27SGMD. It is a side by side with ice through the door. It is +- 9 years old

GE Artica had problems with the "Motherboards" originally installed. They have since switched manufacturers so my educated guess that is the problem.

Water comes from under drawers on fridge side, leaks onto floor

If leak continued then you must have a faulty cut off valve. Check and tighten valve. Also, check the hose that runs underneath the fridge for cuts or holes.

Spraying GE Artica

Check to be sure the filter wasn't frozen. Temp should not be below 35. A plugged filter will not cause leaking. If water still leaks from above filter, you need to replace filter head.
