Hello,
I have a BC 3 that I purchased in the US and brought to India. After conneting I am noticing that the songs hang up when I increase the volume. Once the volume is down songs play without any issues. I am using a step down converter for converting the 220V to 110 as required. Please suggest what could be the problem, never had this issue in US. Were the speakers damaged during the long trip back home?
Hope ur problem has resolved. I was just curious abt something. I am planning 2 buy Bose Companion-2 and take it 2 India. But not sure if it will work fine in India. Can you please suggest ur experience?? Thxs for any help. Please mail at [email protected]

I have had totally the same problem before, and I have discovered that it is actually because of the electric current running through the speakers when the volume is low or muted.
I am afraid to tell you that the only solution to this problem is to raise the volume, as it is not a malfunction in the speakers but in the electric current running through them.
check if the volume control needs to be replaced. volume controls gets bad in due time coz of the carbon layer which gets thinner and thinner till it gets cut off
Have had Bose companion 5s for about three years. The external volume deveice in not active. If I unplug it, the sound goes dead. The indicator light is stuck on green and is very dim.. The touch feature does not respond nor does the volume. Sound is set very low an barely audible. Can I get replacement external volume control or is the problem inside the base unit itself? Any help out there with a similar problem.
email support@bose.com or contact a Bose Support Specialist in Germany; or call US support at 1-800-367-4008. Something very odd is happening here. You are using the same laptop, correct? If not, let me know, as there are some things to try. If Bose has a solution, I'd love to hear it.
Hello Shemon
Well, there is 2 option here, 1) your sound speakers are not connected corretly or in the right slots on the sound card.
2) your sound card, (internal or external) you have to use the mixer on software to put the right channels for the music you heard. try configuring in control panel, in multimedia devices, the speakers. for 5.1 system, or 2 way speakers or 3
try again
