Question about Sony KP-46V35 TV

Intermittent blank screen with r,g and b semi-circles at top of screen

The problem I have is ocassionally the screen will go blank with the red, green and blue semi-circles at the top of the screen. The audio is still good and the standby LED is blinking. Sometimes, the problem will correct itself. I start to see the semi-circles start to stretch across the too of the screen the picture pops back into place...only for this to happen again a few minutes later. Sometimes it never corrects itself and I turn the tv off for a few minutes. When I turn it back on, I get a good picture for a while but the problem returns. Any ideas on the cause of this problem?

Dan, the set has been off for several months due to the stated problem so I powered it up last night to see if the problem would show itself again. And it did not...yet. But a new problem was evident without any blinking of the LED. Each time I changed the channel the audio would switch immediately as expected but the video would take about 30 seconds to a minute to switch and again there was no blinking LED. It did not matter which channel I switched. Any ideas?

Yes, the screen went blank and remained blank until the new channel appeared sometime later.

The blinking standby light should be a help. It should be blinking a repeating code. Can you post that here please?

Thanks,
Dan

One question. When there was a delay in switchin the video, was there a blank screen between the channels?

    Thanks,

There is no blue cable in a 220V, so you have only; white, black, red and ground always green colored wire.

Looking your plug frontal side.
Green Ground on top (semi-circle)
black on left
red on right
white on bottom (neutral).

I can see a semi circle on my screen

If you see a white outline of a semi circle it is a pressure mark caused by something pressing down on that part of the screen. Nothing can be done except to replace the LCD if it bothers you. Good Luck!

Good Day,

Welcome to the world of having a convergence circuit problem. There two things you can do; get it repaired by a Factory Authorized Service Center or repair it your self. Purchase KIT 10 from B&D Enterprises, 1-800-458-6053. The kit has everything you will need except soldering equipment and experience. Good Luck, big IRISH.

Sony Ericsson K810i Cam Blank

Hi..

Sounds like there could be a manufacturer defect so if the phone is still within the warranty, I would definitely contact them and let them know about the green circle and such. I've never seen anything like that before on any of my Sony phones..

Hope this helps..

Green semi-circle of lines on Samsung 55" HDTV (projection)

I believe i have the same problem myself. When my TV is on any of the Component Inputs without my DVD player turned on i usually get the normal green screen. But now that is a dip in the green at the top of the screen from the top left to almost the top right and black pushing down on the dip. Almost like a green curtain was sagging at the top and you can see the black behind it. It does this on every input and distorts every picture you see. The distorted picture has all the green slightly off from where the rest of the picture is and where the dip at the top of the screen is there is somtimes purple instead of black.

I know the basics of how the picture gets onto the screen and its my guess that the Green "gun" for lack of a better term and somhow come loose, or been missaligned to a great extent. I would love to find an answer to this problem, and anyones best guess as to how much a repair man will charge, just so i know the ballpark.
