Alright, this is a lengthy problem so please bear with me, and I will cut to the chase. stereo worked fine when I turned the car off. Next morning it ran and died seconds later. But when I accelerate it runs briefly. I am a second year mechatronics student @ UNB so I asked my EE prof what he thought. He said that with all the symptoms he thinks that there is something burned up within the amplification modual that sends power out to the speakers. Because the stereo displays cd and radio function the equalizer is on and running I can switch through songs and radio stations and everything functions as if it would normally. He feels that when the car accelerates the stereo is getting an access surge of current that would briefly succeed any burned up component.
I guess what my question is, have you encountered this problem beforeand could you inform me as to which component needs replacing and diagram to find it.
Yep May sound silly but do you have a dedicated line for youe B+ going to your amp section or Main B+ Line??? you as well should not I found from expereance use the factory B+ line to run an extras power type radio as its not really built or made for that. also Make sure you double and tripe check the grounds going to the radio as well and do not also use the factory grounds as they should as well be dedicated and that means right from the battery for the grounds.. Now a simple but very good way of getting a dedicated B+ line thats a switched type (only one when the keys on) Is to use a 12 volt 25 to 30 contact rating relay and use the cars original power wire for the 12+ for the relay coil and the ground from the original radio. Now one side of the relay can go directly to the battery and the on side when active can go to the radio.. simple but very efective.
