I dont know what happened to my Helio Ocean i've had it for a year and the screen went blank today randomly and I dont know what to do? there isnt any water damage to it and i have dropped it in the past but nothing recent like the last 6 months..what can I do to fix this issue?

- i have just the opposite problem. my screen is very very very dim or off when i open it the qwerty way, or on (sometimes) when i open it the keypad way. is it a coincidence that i juts took the insurance off of it? interesting. anyway, mail me with a solution if you know, demoniac20@aol.com i dont want to have to get a new phone, and i got this just for the qwerty a year ago. annoying. peace, and thanks - GuestDec 26, 2008

I managed to fix mine! It takes some doing and is probably not for the faint hearted. You have to disassemble the Ocean from the battery side, removing the qwerty keyboard, to gain access to the slider assembly.
Disassemble the slider (pay attention to the spring!) and clean all contacts and make sure all of the flex cables are seated completely. Mine was working OK the qwerty way, but was blank and/or garbled the long way. Now it works great!

SAME THING omg idk whats wrong with this like it just went blank and everything still works and all but i cant see jack...and the cell phone store said i might as well replace it when i tried to fix it,....thats so stupid...so i guess u guys should just get a new one

my screen goes either blank (black, but with the backlight on) or garbly when i open it the long way, but works normally when opened the qwerty way. it just started doing this a couple of days ago. i called tech support and they think it needs to be replaced. lame!

Mine just did this today - the screen shows ok when I slide it open sideways, but not when I open it long ways..??? Also in the past week, the small speaker stopped working, I can only hear people if I put them on speaker phone. :(

my ocean's backlight and keys are responsive. It's fully functional EXCEPT the screen is completely blank/black.

blank screen, front face keys not working, can't sync over 700 pictures cause can't choose sync options once phone is plugged in through usb!!! is there any way these pics can be recovered????

my helio turns on and then it turns right back off, it seems similar to yours. can anyone do something to help?
