When a call or anything else comes in to my phone, it no longer rings. It will vibrate if it's on vibrate, but if it's on normal or loud, it will act as if it's on silent. No sound will come out. What is wrong?
Re: curve 8300 - my phone will not ring, only vibrate
You need to sync your phone with your computer then do a wipe of handheld. this will erase everything but since you have synced you can go and restore from the computer. make sure you back up to computer first. if this does not fix it it needs to be replaced thru warranty or insurance.

I had the identical problem, and was about to replace my unit. When I popped the SIM card and battery back in, the problem was solved. Basically a hard reset. Don't know whether it made a difference, but I left it out overnight. Hope this works for you.
You may have the "auto answer" option turned on. To check, pull up the phone screen as if placing a call, push the blackberry menu button, select "options", then "general options". Make sure "Auto answer" option has "Never" selected.
