    Yahoo Messenger can not start -- Ports used by Yahoo! Messenger

    Try to set these ports on your phone.

    Chat & Messenger --->
    TCP Port 5050: Client Access only

    Insider/Room Lists --->
    TCP Port 80: Client Access only

    File Transfer --->
    TCP Port 80: Server Access.
    Your ISP may block this port, as its used for web hosting.
    You can change port in Messenger, Preferences, File Transfer.

    Voice Chat --->
    UDP 5000-5010
    TCP 5000-5001: Client Access
    If UDP Fails, TCP will be used instead, see below.

    WebCam --->
    TCP Port 5100: Client Access

    Super Webcam --->
    TCP Port 5100: Server Access

    P2P Instant Messages --->
    TCP Port 5101: Server Access
    PMs between Buddys may not use the Yahoo! Server, but this is not a requirement.

    I hope you understand.

Dear, it simply means that your phone does not have gprs configuration settings. Just contact your service provider for internet settings.

Hi am using alcatel ot 802 y, i want to use IM softwares like ebuddy, nimbuzz or fringe.. am not able to run the application though i could download it through gprs, kindly help

Try Yahoo Mobile Messenger. It works on almost any mobile phone. There are two ways to install.

First way: Just enter m.yahoo.com/messenger into the mobile browser on your phone, and you've got Yahoo! Messenger.

Second way: Click on this link on your home PC and follow the directions: http://mobile.yahoo.com/messenger#2142843960

What brand of cell phone are your using? You can get a program like yamee installed on your cell phone and use this to log on to your yahoo messenger. This should log you fine as i use yamee on my nokia e71.

Get this software on this site http://www.getjar.com/products/15494/Yamee select your mobile device and go ahead to download the software on your device.

It won't let me im!

are you able to access your data services. If you dont have access to your mobile internet IM will fail. IM services use text messaging and wap access. Make sure you have both.
If you do try to log on with IM short codes.
Text in [Yahoo! ID] [password] to 92466. Do not include quote marks, brackets or commas. For example, if your Yahoo! ID is chatsalot77 and your password is 123456, your text should read : in chatsalot77 123456. Leave a space between in, your Yahoo! ID and your password, as illustrated.
  • You will receive a text message confirming that you are logged into Yahoo! Messenger on your mobile device.
  • To log out: Text out to 92466.
  • Alot of the time after this is successful you can log off through the menus in the phone and be able to log on successfully.
