Hi again,

Any updates?

To recap our Live Session:

  • download WDM_A405.exe;
  • uninstall all instances of realtek Ac'97 in the Device Manger including the hidden ones;
  • clean temp & temp internet files;
  • Reboot, hit the "Del" key and enter CMOS/BIOS configuration, verify that the sound/audio device is enabled;
  • Save and exit. Reboot;
  • Windows should auto-detect and messgae "New Hardware Fouond";
  • Try Windows' auto install;
  • if that does not work, repeat above steps and answer no;
  • soon as Windows has completed its booting, temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall;
  • double click on the downloaded WDM_A405.exe;
  • verify in Device Manager that drivers are correctly installed with no yellow or red marks.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

My computer model Acer Power series FV530 model today i Installed Window XP in Drive D:/. After that i couldnt get audio What can i do for this problem Kindly assist me

First check you have drivers installed. RMB My computer - Manage - Device manager - scroll down the list see if there are any yellow question marks. If so you need to install drivers for those devices. Also check for disabled devices (red x) they'll need enabling.

If you don't have an audio driver, try this:-

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-971-drivers-realtek-ac-97-audio

Download the
Realtek AC'97 Audio Driver

Its a generic driver, good for most PC's

Recently re-installed windows xp on my e-machines T2542 and now my speakers (Diamond Audio Techonology Model EMC2.0-USB) do not work. I downloaded RealTek AC '97 Audio, but it does not show up in my Device...

Good day sir, hi, the realtek you downloaded maybe is not the correct driver, the driver is the ALC202 from this website: http://mxdtr.com/index.php/category/emachines-trigem-imperial-g-motherboard-driver-drivers-download/

You can visit this site for the driver:
http://www.lostmydrivers.com/soundcard-drivers/realtek/page_3.html

Run the driver once again, when windows detect the device, dont reply, just let the driver finish the installation. then restart the pc. thats it. thanks

RealTek AC Audio97

hi sweets6;
did you uninstall the old drivers before you install the new one? try to un-install it first by right clicking the audio device then select un-install, restart, then install the driver, restart and try to see if it works.

let me know :)
