Cuisinart burr grind and brew coffee maker

All of a sudden my cuisinart burr grind and brew coffee maker is not grinding coffee. I have removed all parts, cleaned it and it is still not grinding. It looks as though the coffee is not going into the brew compartment.

The beans are not being ground. It just whirrs without processing the beans.

We are having the same problem. Hear a humming sound but no motor action. I will take it apart this weekend, and let everyone know.

Cleaned coffee maker. Next morning it worked that evening I tried 3 times to make coffee and the grinder makes noise and the water gets hot but when you pour it out there is only hot water with a tinge of brown from the few beans that were ground.

The hopper between the burr grinder and where coffee chutes into the filter is jammed with coffee powder...

First, take out the filter holder and carafe, and place a freash empty filter on the pot base to catch stuff.

Next, take out the beans holder and look for the release lever in the lower left section. Sliding it to the left slides open the door, where you'll probably find loads of powder. You can poke your finger through to get the majority, then use the cleaning brush to get it really clean.

Thanks what fixed mine! (I notice I have to do this about once every few months.)

I had the same problem that the grinder had failed. My machine was about 18 months old so I emailed cuisinart customer services here in the UK (via cuisinart.co.uk)

They asked a few questions, similar to the ones above above about cleaning the hopper etc, but this did not resolve the problem. So they arranged to have the machine posted back to them (at their cost) and a few days later emailed to say that they weren't able to repair and sent a brand new replacment.

Very impressed with their customer service.

Hope that helps!

I found out that if you spray hot water directly into the Burr Ginder and wash it out then do a dry run with no coffee it Will fix the problem.

How to fix the leak from the bottom of my cuisinart dgb-900bc

Re: Cuisinart grind and brew model DGB900BC leaking from the bottom. Finally fixed it before buying a new one. Remove the 4 torq screws (#10 bit check auto stores) from the bottom and remove the bottom. You will see a horse shoe shaped metal coil that heats the water from the resevoir. I found that the coil had a small hole in it. Cleaned it well and applied a coat of epoxy paste to the leaking area ( I used a product called PC11 from Ace) So far, no leaks, and the coffee maker is working like new.

Same thing happened to me about 1 year ago. I took the machine apart and determined the issue to be in the circuit board. I bypassed the board and wired the power cord directly to the motor. The machine began to work and is still operating fine. The only drawback, of course - having bypassed the circuit board and switch, you now are on full manual operation. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet and the motor spins; when you are finished grinding you have to remove the cord from the power source to stop the motor. I am OK with this - beats 35 - 50 dollars for a new grinder. Dave

When grinding coffee beans the grinder is not dropping the beans into the grinder part. I have to stay and shake or bang the grinder on counter to get the beans to fall through.

you must screw off the burr holder plate screw (in center) you will order one special screw, drill shaped, when the burrs roll it will mix and take down the coffee beans. That is solution i applied to many grinders. PS: beware the direction of burrs must be coordinated with new screw.

Grinder fell. Black "button" inside broke off.

Use just about any 2-part epoxy, clean parts with rubbing alcohol first to remove coffee oil and get a good bond.

Coffee does not go from grind to brew basket. Plugs..must clean every time

Try running some unflavored panko breadcrumbs or rice through it. That will clean it up and remove any oil that's causing sticking. Try to use less oily coffee in the future to avoid this.

Coffee grinder on brew and grind won't work

Make sure the slot between the grind basket and filter basket is clean and free of grounds - then inspect the area near the grinder motor - use the brush that came supplied with the Cuisinart to clean that area out. Once thoroughly cleaned, try one more time to Grind. Let me know if it works.
