When you installed the software to your wireless network adapter, what did it load up?

Do this....

Uninstall the whole program. You should see an icon next to the zoom adaptor in your programs when you press the start button to uninstall it.

If you don't you will have to go into the control panel. Select add/remove programs. Look for it in the list and unistall it that way.

Restart your computer.

Plug the wireless adaptor in your computer and let the computer scan for the drivers. It may need the CD that came with the adapter but don't load anything else off of the CD.

I installed the driver and the utilities program that comes with the driver still thniks that i have no card plugged in

Due to the fact that you have attempted to install the drivers for the wireless adapter, the device manager might be holding multiple copies of the drivers which might be preventing the drivers from being loaded properly. In order to address the problem, please do the following:

Step 1 If the computer has a built-in ethernet adapter, please make sure that you disable it.

Step 2 Boot into safe mode (press F8 during bootup). Once in safe mode, access the device manager (right-click my computer, left-click properties, left-click on the hardware tab, left-click on device manager). Expand the network adapters category and determine if there are multiple copies of the driver. If so, please uninstall them one by one until they are removed completely.

Step 3 Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, and uninstall the D_Link configuration utility.

Step 4 At this point, restart the laptop and eject the wireless card. If you have a PCI adapter, do not reboot or remove the adapter.

Step 5 Make sure that there are no background utilities running such as antivirus, crash guard, or firewall. If so, please disable them.

Step 6 Run the installation CD in order to install the drivers for the wireless adapter.

Step 7 If you have a laptop, shutdown the computer and install the adapter. Turn on computer and Windows should install the drivers.

If you have a PCI adapter, reboot the computer and Windows should install the drivers.

System crashes and re-starts

N oyou not need to purchase new 1 /
But just make sure that your usb devcie is not conflicting with any other driver or device.
For that uninstall your zoom adapter usb driver then reisnstall.
Also some usb adapter give some memory space so if you have memory space on your zoom adapter then scan it for viruses or format it.
Then it works fine.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

Says my linksy adaptor is inactive. would not go to setup wizard after files downloaded from startup disc.

You can try first removing all the Linksys software from the computer and then after that unplug the LInksys adapter from the computer and restart the computer.when the computer is already up you run again the setup CD and follow the steps again and you can already connect the Linksys adapter before running the setup so the computer will detect it already...

"WPC54G is not installed"

Those install programs that Linksys uses are terrible. This happens all the time.

You probably can't use the linksys program to install the software on a Windows 2000 machine you should be able to install just the driver you need. I have never used wireless networking on a Win 2000 computer before. Win XP has sotware already built into the operating systems to deal with wireless networking.

Uninstall all Linksys wireless networking software. Restart you computer with the wirless network card install and let Windows search for the correct drivers on the CD.

try updating your windows OS..some components might need to be installed. Check also the website of zoom if they have a updated driver that may fix the issue.

You might also want to check some softwares/driver that may conflict zoom.

Targus Adapter is Freezing my computer!

This adapter is obviously not compatable with Vista as it was originally used in Win98, Win2000 and XP and there are no drivers on this site for Vista. http://www.targus.com/us/drivers_manuals.asp?SKU=ACB10US For the price of a new Vista compatible Bluetooth adapter it's not worth re installing another operating system as all adapters should have all the same uses as each other.
