Check in the lower left hand side of your keyboard. You should see a key wth the letters FN. You will need to press FN + F2 in order to turn the WiFi on and off from the keyboard.

no don't clickf1 or f2 , go to internet icon below on task bar , click right to that icon then click search for wifi , it will connect automatically and you can easily use the wifi , but sometimes it will ask for passwords .
It is not a switch
look on the keyboard and look at 'F2' button and press it
this is the button which turns on the wifi
note the f2 key says f2 in blue and then shows a wifi signal icon in
white also note a blue square box appears as you switch on and off your
wifi connection in the bottom right hand corner...
if you are sure that it works ...just change the frequency ...see that the wlan has more than one ...numbered from 6 to 16 or so ...try that ..better look into the wireless router or what ever you have to see how it is set . you can also try to reinstall the wifi driver ..cause it might be damaged..or not proper installed
I had the same problem, but I solved it by hitting the f2 key alone (w/out the function key). when i keyed them at the same time the wireless did not toggle on/off
This happened to me using a Dell Inspiron laptop. The wireless switch was disabled and the answer was supposed to use both the blue Fn and regular F2 function key to enable wireless connection. I tried Fn and F2 together and it did not work. I tried just F2 alone and it worked.

by default, dell systems' switch for wireless can be done by pressing Fn and tap F2. The wifi light should lit up. Your modem is integrated to the motherboard. If you were able to lit up the wifi light, this should be able to detect wireless signals for you to connect to.
