Please Help! my Sandisk 2GB Cruzer Micro USB Drive

I recently purchased this drive and it's been working well, until recently, when I connected it to another PC, the light won't show and the PC doesn't see it anymore. I've tried it on my PC, it doesn't show too and I'm worried because I have a whole Thesis in it and I am supposed to defend a few days from now. My email address is the product serial number is SDCZ6-2048-A10RB. Please help, I don't have my project backed up anywhere else!!!

My Sandisk Cruzer was similar. I fixed it by going into Device Manager/Disk drives/Sandisk Cruzer USB device. In Policies Tab I changed its settings from "Optimise for quick removal" to "Optimise for performance". Then OK. This means you have to click on the little Click To Remove Device logo before you unplug it... but it now works perfectly!

Suggested that you load every windows update humanly possible

tripple check the USB ports , make sure they are enabled in the bios , make sure to use the primary USB ports on the motherboards back plane not the extra ones lower on the board because they may be faulty or loose wires , check them to make tripple sure.

the second computer you plugged the drive into may be simply stupid or dissabled in some way
or it doesn't have all it's critical updates and service packs , or may be a stupid windows 98 se computer which didn't have USB 2.0 just USB 1.0 because we were lied to by the computer industry in a manor of speaking.

last resort send the drive back to have it looked at by the company

don't feel bad many people report lots of problems with external usb hard drives , one day they are working and the next they are not , so buyer be ware.

They do have data recovery places but I wouldn't do that unless it's mission critical and you work for nasa.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
