Go to the web site of the manufacturer of the sound card. Look up the model you have and download their drivers.

We are getting a a slight stutter about 3 seconds into any plaback or recording in Audition 3.0 on 2 separate, but identical PC's running Windows 7. Any solutions?

You should check your sound card and make sure you have an ASIO sound card driver. If you google search it you should be able to find some solutions for your machine. Install the new driver and then select it in the preference screen.

Can't get stereo input on microsoft xp

a yes, the registry issues and your sound card. lots of new equipment have sigmatel or idt or realtek sound drivers. , most have the configuration controlled via the registry. some have the option installed in the registry but just turned off at the sound card utility.

open your control panel. select the sound icon and that will present you the screen for configuring your sound card.

it's not perfectly clear that you are tryinfg to use stereoin as a recording source like whaty your hear or like stereromix.

Your registry may be configured to support these options, or it may not.
the sound control tab that you are looking at should indicate that. go to the recording tab and investigate your options.

If the options are not vissible then they may need to be modified in your registry. that's not always simple and not for the faint of heart.

You could also try to find the latest or alternate drivers that already have te function installed.

let's take it one step at a time. look in the sound tabs from the control panel.

I can't hear myself when recording on sony acid 7 pro

this is a sound card configuration issue. many new pcs and laptop have the sound card configuration in the registry. many previously available functions are either turned off/disabled or just not configured.

its a slightly different solutuion between vista and XP, the screen look different.

1st open the control panel and select the sound & devices ICON.

this opens a view of tabs for the sound card.

under playback...on XP you need to select the mic or line is as an available monitor.

under playback in vista, the default playback device will be displayed. a right click on the tab area provides an option to view disabled devices.

again under vista if you double click on the playback device itself, a new set of tab views appears.

this new set may support a check box for "RecordMonitor" or it may have a tab for Input Monitor.

in either case set the input monitor on so you can hear your input while recording in Acid.

If these options are not available on your screen, then the solution will be more complicated.

You wioll need some registry expertise. rather than that thoiu, try to get the latest sound card driver, which may have the devices configured.

if not then i would need more detailed information on your hardware, sound card, driver version and operating system to help you any further.

under xp and vista you can find the registry entries you are looking for by searching for one that is more frequently there.

You could look for EnableRecMonitor or MasterVolume etc.

the other registry entries found there are fairly easy to follow to set them the way you want them to be. In some cases you may have to add the necessary registry entries, but as I said that's not that intuitive...

I have problem with sound in my Desktop. Before it works properly but while I instaled realtek drivers, there is no sound and volume control also dissaper. help me

Might need to boot in safe mode go to device manager and remove the sound driver completely then reboot and possibly install the new driver. Is the sound card integrated on the motherboard? If so might have to go to realtek web site and down the drivers from there instead of the motherboard web site. I have had problems with MSI motherboards with same problem.
