Power light flashing green to red

Assuming the "squiggle line" is the Utility LED the unit has proper power. The light is steady green and not flashing, correct?

Have you reset the unit?

Try removing all but one attached device to verify it's not an overload condition.

A photo of the control panel would help.

Try and push and hold the on button for about 3 sec. This will start a manual battery test. If only three of the five battery led illuminate allow the ups to recharge the batteries for 24 hours. Battery light flashing means internal battery source not available. Check battery connection, completely power down and reboot UPS

Infinit loo between online and on battery?

With all 5 units behaving the same, I would expect that the power is still out of range. If the power is too high or too low (see manual for thresholds) the unit will stay on battery power to protect the attached equipment. If you have the software loaded, it will show you what the input AC voltage is at. Otherwise, it could be time for new batteries: http://batteryinternational.com/apc-smartups-1000-ups-battery-ups-batteries-f2.html

No Power to outlets, Power light flashes green

Let it charge without anything plugged in to the outlets for at least 8 hours. Then, test the battery voltage again. If you still get less than 11.5 volts on either of the batteries, it's time for a new set. It's recommended that you replace both as the other one, even with a reading of 12 volts, is going to fail very soon. The UPS is trying to charge the batteries to get both batteries, as a pair, to 24 volts. It will continously charge them until it gets there (which won't happen if it's a bad battery) and you'll burn out the new one you just replaced. You can new batteries at www.batteryinternational.com for a fraction of the cost of a new UPS. Hope this helps.

Smart UPS 1500 - battery level green lights blink on and off

You need to run recalibration on the unit.  The supplied PowerChute software & cable will allow you to do this if you hook the UPS up to a PC (I know it works with the serial cable, not sure about USB).  If you only have a MAC then I cannot offer a solution other than to buy the standalone PowerView device from APC.  It will cost a bit more than a battery, but may save you from buying needless batteries in the future.  I finally broke down an bought one, but note that I was still having the problem after the 1st recalibration.  By trial and error (and maybe a vague memory) I put my MAC in sleep mode, that dropped the load to stop the lights from flashing.  Then I recalibrated with a 22% load and now it finally seems better (lights no longer flashing).  This was with a Smart-UPS 1000.
Let me know if that helps.
