Question about Canon Digital Cameras

1 Answer

Canon PowerShot A75 digital cmera suddenly went dead so I can no longer take pictures. Colors flash across the screen instead of the normal clear screen. It turns on and I can pick up the old pictures. It worked one day and then the next was gone. I love the camera and have had it for just over one year. If it costs too much to repair I won't bother, but what do I do and where do I go?

Please not, I live in Germany at an Air Force Base. I called the Canon company here in Germany. They diagnosed the problem, something apparently inherent with this camera, and told me the representant dealer close to where I live is the only one allowed to service it at Canon's expense.
Thanks, Betty

Hello!

Unfortunately it sounds like you have a bad CCD on your A75. You can try calling Canon to see if it is under the CCD recall. The recall is over, but Canon allegedly has still been accepting customer's cameras for the recall.

Good luck!
