Question about Olympus Cameras

1 Answer

In a drunken haze on Friday night, I was looking for my camera for hours, to record the crazy antics of the eve. When I found it later, much to my dismay, the screen had several cracks on it. This is the result of it being found in my back pocket!! I have been able to get all the photos off the memory stick, and the camera still operates perfectly, except there is no image visible on the screen. When switched on there are no unusual whirring noises that would indicate internal mechanical problems. The camera model is an Olympus x-835, 8.0 megapixel, AF 3x optical zoom. Am I right in assuming that all is needed is a new screen? There are screws visible around the edges, which I have been told means that the screen can be replaced easily as the camera is not been moulded? I would be very greatful if you could advise me on how to proceed with the repair of a camera, as I have enjoyed using greatly and hope to continue to do so in the future. Thank you for your time. Paul. Manchester.

I have a Techview H.@64 Model 3036. Records during daylight hours but loses video recording at night?. Any ideas on how to enable the infrared recording at night? Marilyn

If you have IR capability make sure you have power to the camera as well as a video feed. There should be a tail at the camera that supports the power and a plug in for the other side.

Zoom H4 Battery Problem

I am having the same problem with my Zoom-H2. I have 2 2650 mah rechargeables, and the draw is such that 20-30 minutes of record &/or playback kills the batteries. Last night I just turned the power on and did nothing. 5 hours later the batteries were dead...

This isn't a solution. It is a reaffirmation that you aren't crazy!

Our Automated Attendant for our Norstar M7310 is picking up the wrong message. Where do we change that?

assigning messages is done by
feature 983>1020000>AA>Table>table 1>Greeting Type
depending on how you have the business hours times set it'll play the greeting you want. Typically I set the greeting type as morning:1, afternoon:1, Evening:1 and Non-business:4. then under business hours I set them up as mon- fri morn:0800am, aft:0800am, eve:0800am and nonb: 0500pm. sat and sun as morn:1200am, aft: 1200am, eve:1200am, and nonb: 1159am
press Rls when finished
that way when a caller calls between 8am and 4:59pm they get the day greeting and from 5pm to 7:59am they get the night greeting (greeting 4) saturday and sunday play the night greeting all day.
Dont forget to record greeting 4 as your night greeting.

When taking photos at night I sometimes get a red haze

It's probably because of the artificial light affecting the white balance, causing the images to appear too 'hot'. Ideally, you could post up some photos so we can see (along with the EXIF data).

If you shoot in RAW you can easily adjust when post processing.
