I put in a new pad and a new pick roller. I went to reset both of these on the properties menu and only the pad would show that I changed it out. How do I get the pick roller to show that I need it changed out? It's at over 56,000 scans.

Hello, you need to determine if it tries at all. when you send a print job do you hear a sound, like it tries to pick up the paper, if yes, then remove the paper tray entirely for the printer. Look into the hole and towards the front you should see a black rubber roller. Take a lightly dampened cloth and wipe down as much of that roller as possible, paper dust can accumulate interfering with the operation (pick up roller). Take care to check the guides in the paper tray are aligned correctly for the paper size in use. Put the paper tray back into the printer, try to make a test print. i hope this assists with your problem, If after cleaning the roller the problem still exists the pick up roller may need to be changed.
Sounds like you might have a transfer roller that needs to be replaced. The transfer roller is under where the cartridge seats and transfers the toner to the paper...If toner is not sticking to the transfer roller it will show what you are seeing....Transfer rollers come in Maintenance kits. If the transfer roller is not the issue....its most definitely the fuser not fusing the toner completely, due to improper heating, to the page giving a lightness.
Step one: Check the paper in the ADF
The condition of the paper or the amount of paper loaded in the ADF might prevent the ADF from picking it up and feeding it through the product.
Make sure that no more than 50 sheets of paper are in the ADF input tray.
Make sure the original is not photo paper or carbon paper. These types of originals must be loaded on the scanner glass.
Make sure the original document that is loaded in the ADF meets the following criteria:
Free from curls, folds, creases, and tears
Does not have staples or clips attached
Step two: Make sure the ADF pick assembly is in good working condition
Remove the document feeder and open the ADF cover.
While lifting the blue-green lever, carefully rotate the pick assembly toward the open ADF cover until it stops.
Examine the pick assembly.
Make sure the bottom roller is held firmly in place by the two-catch, which is located to the left and the right of the roller.
Make sure the stack stopper, which is located between the top and bottom rollers, fits within the double slots just above the bottom roller. The stack stopper should move freely within the double slots to flow up and down when the whole pick assembly is lifted and lowered into position.
Return the pick assembly to its original position.
When the product is turned on, the top roller will reset to its original position above the separator pad. There will be a gap between the separator pad and the top roller.
If there is no gap between the ADF top roller and the separator pad, press the Power button to turn off the product.
Wait three to five seconds and then press the Power button to turn the product on. The ADF rollers should reset to the correct positions.
Close the ADF cover and replace the document feeder.
Step three: Clean the rollers and separator pad
Remove the document feeder and open the ADF cover.
While lifting the blue-green lever, carefully rotate the pick assembly toward the open ADF cover until it stops.
Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with distilled water, and then squeeze any excess liquid from it.
Use the damp cloth to wipe any residue off the rollers and the separator pad. If the residue does not come off using distilled water, use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol on the cloth instead.
Return the pick assembly to its original position.
Close the ADF cover and replace the document feeder.
Step four: Detaching and re-attaching the ADF pick roller assembly
If the ADF pick assembly is detached or not connected properly, follow the steps below to resolve the issue.
If the ADF pick assembly works well, do not perform these steps.
Press the Power button to turn off the All-in-One.
Remove the document feeder and open the ADF cover.
Press the blue-green ADF-release button to release the ADF rollers from the pick assembly as shown in the figure below (the red arrow is pointing to the ADF release button).
Re-attach the ADF pick rollers by placing the rollers into the roller slot of the ADF pick assembly as shown in the figure below.
The red arrows show the gears on the ADF pick assembly aligned on one side. The yellow arrows point to the two-catch notch.
Once the rollers are placed on the two-catch notch, push them in, so that the two-catch clicks into place.
The photo below shows a correctly installed ADF pick assembly.
Close the ADF assembly and cover.
Turn the product on and make a copy with the ADF to check that the pick assembly works.
1.Pull out the paper tray
2.turn the machine upside down
3.push the blue lift arm and pull out the pin of the PF roller
4.then slide the PF roller to the left and pull it out
5.replace it with new one put the pin of the new roller into the hole of the blue lift arm.
6. place the machine on its base.
P.S you need reset pf roller counter after replacement
press "MENU - START - 088"
LCD shows "PARTS REPLACEMENT"
go down with arrow till "reset PF kit T1?" PRESS "SET" key
all done.
Remove left cover (where the USB connection is located);
Remove big black gear with a spring on it (you may need to unscrew the PCB that partially covers it);
There is a clutch that sticks to the rubber pad behind this gear. You may put a piece of scotch tape towards to a rubber pad, so the plastic from clutch mechanism would'n stick anymore. http://www.phillycopiers.com/fix/hl-2040-2070-fix.jpg

The problem is not just to roll over, be changed and separation pad. These two components change very easily and boxes that are delivered and indications for replacement. These are the codes for parts: Pad Assembly - Part Number: PA03289-0111 Pick Roller - Part Number: PA03289-0001 After replacement counters to be reset for each Pieces. Open the scanner properties.
Usually have to display a maintenance message on the computer display, such as: separation pad should be replaced.
If there is to scan any messages like that, you have to clean the sensors around the separation pad. They are round and are getting a little inside. Click on the blue button at the top of the ADF and open the lid.
Open tray 1
remove the pick up roller
pad is located under the roller
in the front center of the pad is a small notch
inset a small screwdriver or key something small and flat.
give it a twist and the pad should pop out.
install the new pad by aligning with the holes and push down should sort of snap into place.
Reinstall pick up roller
Hope this helps
