Question about HP (J7941A) Print Server
When the unit is booted, it passes the post tests but then hangs on booting. Possibly its lost its software. any ideas James
Can you connect to the Web Interface? See http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&lang=en&cc=us&docIndexId=179111&taskId=101&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=27375 for more details. If it's truly lost it's firmware, you're probably toast, as I didn't see the availability of a serial port. I'm betting you don't have a support contract for it with HP, so if your firmware is gone, I'd recommend saving some cash and replacing it.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
