Washing machine won't drain water nor spin

Hi there

I have an LG top loader 6 kg which has been working fine until the other day. As per normal, i put my dirty laundry into the washing machine to be washed and left the house. when i got back all 5/6 red lights on the spin speed side were flushing and the water had not been drained. i then decided to select the rinse and spin button. it worked as normal and then suddenly stopped. it did not drain the water and the spin lights were flashing again. please would you assist, what could be the problem? it has not worked since.

You have either a clog in your water pump or it has broke. Most the time it can be fixed by removing the 2 hoses attached and remove all debris. Then make sure it is still working. This will correct the light flashing problem at the same time. Please rate this ~!!!

Hi, sounds like you have a blocked pump, it is located on bottom right of machine, it is a very simple fix, just remove pump and see what is inside, remove it and you should be all good. :)

Hi i want to know that a waight of 6 kg washing maching is a small one for cloths or it is ok . should i go for more than 6 kg. for 4-5 persons family. thanks.i just choose a whirlpool compact model of...

Your question is not easy to answer. An average washing machine is 8 kg. The smaller 6 kg will use less water and detergent, but you will be limited to 4 or 5 pair of jeans at one time...unless your children are small. A front loading machine may be a better choice for you. It can do very large loads, 12 kg, and still use less water and detergent than most top loaders, but be prepared to pay three times the price of a top loader.

LG Top Loader Fuzzy Logic 5.5. The water

Hi,
No you just need to get the drain hose up higher...the water is siphoning out and is either caused by the end of the drain hose still in water and not having an air gap or the hose is not going up higher then the top of your washer...
Lifting the hose up should give you an air gap and get the hose high enough to stop the siphoning...

YOU NEED TO CHECK THE WATER PUMP,SO LAY THE MACHINE ALL THE WAY DOWN ON ITS FRONT,NOW YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE PUMP.Remove any debris that may be lodged inside of it.
