Found specifications for both 2000 and R100 to have same model replicator. See 'detailed specifications' for both on http://www.csd.toshiba.com/

Sorry I have toshiba portege 100 but whwn I switch on open the bios password and I dont have the password tell me what I do??

To remove the BIOS password on this model, you'll need a parallel port, which comes on a port replicator or a dock cause the laptop doesn't come with one. After that, you'll need to make a parallel port password key (buy an old, parallel port cable, cut it, locate the schematics http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/CmosPwd, and connect the appropriate wires), and that'll do it.

Hi,

With the notebook off plug the USB drive into a port, hold down "F12" when powering up and choose your Boot-device (USB).

If there is no option to boot from the USB (Removable Device) then chances are you are going to need a BIOS update which you can download from the Toshiba support website.

Regards.

Toshiba portege r100

Now, that is a tough one. Only way to unlock the hard drive is to have the original password. You will not even be able to access it retrieve any data you want to save.

Thinking you are in the market for a new hard drive and a complete reload of the system.
