I wondered our switchboard is a Panasonic KX -T7633 when a incoming call rings and I am on another call it gives a red light, how can I program it to beep in the ear or give some other noisy indication that there's another incoming call.At times I am busy with a call and my eyes are not on the screen, I don't get to see the red light flickiering furously, when it flickers like this would that be more than 1 incoming call.I also find that I can only take another call once I've replaced the receiver, sorry for all the ?s it is my first time working with this phone.

Thanks for all the other replies they were really helpful.

By default a TDA user has access to the first 9 programs in the Basic Programming (000-009). It lets you set things like date and time, speed calls, extension name, number and PIN code, and operator extensions.

Access to the programming is from an allowed phone by PROG **1234. You may have to consult your installer/dealer to find out which phone does that, but generally it's the operator.

The 7633 is a phone. The system is a TDA. The phone has a display with 4 soft keys underneath. The left key is marked PROG when the phone is idle.

Extension 101, by default is the programming phone. All phones can program ring tones, background music and the like, and, when we install the system all phones can do system programming. At the very least, you should be able to walk up to x101 and press PROG **1234 and get into programming.

Then dial 004 STORE 101and the display will show the current name for extension 101. (101:(name). You then can press the keypad keys up to 7 times to spell out a letter. (ie 2 will give you ABCabc2). Then press the right side of the Navigator key to advance the cursor and spell out your second letter etc.

When you finish press ENTER to save it.

If you don't grasp the concept of this, you should call your dealer/installer. There are a couple of user guides that explain this fully.

Try to follow this link. This is the customer operating manual for TDA systems.

    http://www.microtelcommunications.com/li...

Call Waiting is a code for C.O. *7321 turns it on.. The appendix would be a good place to start, but the other feature I was telling you about is explained earlier in the manual.

Change internal directory on optipoint 500

The extension name and extension number are set in the system programming. Use manager 'e' and change them in the station view. If you are swapping people around and want them to keep their extension numbers and names, you should re-patch the cables feeding to the wall sockets rather than change the programming (if you can).

Trying to switch the extension number.

On the newer norstar systems the T7208 and lower phones can not be used for programming. The T7316e phone has to be used for programming therefore feature 983 will only work on the T7316e set.To change local dn's you have to go into config programming and to change dn old dn then new dn.
